Advertising this for my father-in-law who bought it brand new. Car is original paint, never been in an accident, always garaged. Mileage is 229K with the engine rebuilt (or replaced?) at 160K miles (have receipts). Has the original window sticker although some pieces of it are missing, original owner's manual with original saleman's business card stapled to it, and most old registration cards. Car is in good shape considering the age and mileage. California car its whole life so never saw harsh winter weather. Asking $4500. Would like to find a good home for it.

Ask him how he managed to dent the top of that inner fender. Cool car and story.

Thanks, Charley. I'm certainly no expert on these cars but it looks like the tops of the inner fenders are indented as stamped by Ford. This ebay auction shows an engine compartment shot... I think you are right. It almost looks like the dent is needed for the hood hinge.

For those who say "I cant afford to get into the old car hobby" this is your entry ticket. New whitewalls and its good to go!

And it has the neat-o 390 emblems on the fender. Stop and think how rare this car actually is.

Clean it up carefully, put the correct WSW tires on it and you might just spark the Next Big Thing in the car hobby.

Wow, that is a steal, I wish your were in Chicago area, but then the car would be a rust bucket.

I love it, hard to believe it has not sold.

I hope it goes to a good home.
