This trim ring is off a 1969 SS 5 spoke Magnum wheel. I'm not sure if it is original or reproduction. Any help would be appreciated. The part number on the tag is 971022.

Wilma,
It looks to be original by the small dip on the edge of the outer ring...does the transition from the dish to where it turns and flattens out more sharp or rounded edge. I think these are trade mark designs by GM on their trim rings. Just my guess with out seeing it in person...kind'a hard to see the edges on the trim ring. Not sure of the back clips that hold it onto the rim. 69 ring...seems to be later then that. I'm no expert on these so hopefully someone with more sense then me to chime in.

Definitely a GM service replacement ring. All of the ones I've had always have those same stickers on the back.

Tom, just last year I had a set of 4 in GM boxes, unopened till I opened them, all 4 had the same sticker and looked the like yours.,I believe they are called 2nd. design with those clips.

Thanks for the reply...so, would these be any better/more correct than the current repros available or does it really matter? Someone I know wants them for a resto...they are not NOS...but they are really nice.
