Hi Erica.
Thanks for taking the time to find and post the catalog pictures. This explains why it is so hard to find information about a set of 1970 bars featured in a ad with jr stock racer Ron Garey Sept 1970. They changed the design from late 70 to 71 so very few bars pictured in a Sept 1970 ad would have been sold.
Thanks again
Bernhard

IN 25+ years I have only seen several of those bars for sale. Very hard to find.

Do you remember what they were selling for, are they valued? </div></div>
No idea but everyone who builds a Day 2 Chevelle usually want the ladder bar type-the quintascential 70's part. I have never seen anyone other than you wanting a set you are looking for.

I asked the Waibel family about these bars and they said they didn't use Lakewood they built there own system.

PS: How do these 2015 part number work? I see the picture in a box but can't put 2 and 2 together?

Hi Ryan.
I have been researching Olds jr stock cars from 67-70, from old car magazine articles, old pictures and talking to people that were around back in the day. A lot of cars were running there own set up or modified Lakewood ladder bar.
If you enlarge the original ad you will see the part #2015 and in the catalog it is just below the picture. Thanks for the reply I like hearing about Olds jr stock cars history.
I'm collecting parts for my 69 442 2dr post bench stick copy of a jr stock. I'm trying to be as accurate as I can, but have found out that I might have to go with some reproduction parts, due to cost and availability.

I was able to score a set of these bars, just picked them up today.
Does anyone have a 1970 lakewood catalog? I would like to find out if this style of bar was listed in 1970 Lakewood catalog as well.

My guess is the rectangular window allows for the sway bar to remain, so based solely on that assumption, these bars could be supplimental and parallel the factory control arms. Anyone else?

Thanks Erica for the reply,I wonder if the bars in the original ad featured in late 70 ever made it to market.
There is no room to run both bars, and you would not be able to tune the length of the bars.
I think the reason for the hole in the center is to reduce weight. Not being able to run a real sway bar may affect traction only testing will confirm this.
Hey Berny, I haven't known Dave to go by Erica. That's just the name of a drag racer he likes... I think. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/shocked.gif

I'm sorry Dave. I seen the name under the car and thought that was your name.
Thanks again for all the help Dave, I was able to locate a set of these bars because you posted the catalog photos.
Take Care
Bernhard
