Aluminum intake for Bbc, Square port Part number 5605. Real old vintage intake. Needs to be cleaned up, has a Broken Bolt in one of the coil holes that needs to be drilled out. Its a low rise, dual quadrajet intake. Was going to use it on my Camaro but dont feel like changing to Square ports. Real Cool day 2 part. No broken bolt holes, and no porting or modifications done to it. $350 obo.

Forgot to mention, no stripped threads. And ports are real smooth from factory.

Just an FYI, many guys run rectangular port intakes on oval port heads with great results. You would think the port mismatch would be an issue but I have heard otherwise.

Hi Jason, That's funny i've heard opposite. Ive heard Running Oval ports on Square port heads isnt a problem, but the other way round is. and either way I would think the sudden expansion/contraction of air at the junction of the two different ports would cause some power loss. Plus I'd rather just do it right.

Jason -- I have done the exact thing on a .060 out 427 ... it ran great. The reason? Got a hell of a deal on the intake -- had a cracked bolt hole and bolt twisted off in the thermostat housing. TAZ

Back in the day the #163 intake was a popular choice since there weren't a lot of oval port options....and the Chevy unit was cheap and readily available. I can't speak to the science...but I know lots of guys who ran them and they seemed to work just fine.
Here is an old SYC thread..

There are similar stories on the other sites...believe it or not...it works.

yea all the Stock/SuperStock boys ran those stock intakes at one point. 10 second cars in Stock Eliminator.

I have a couple intakes I got from Jenkins when he passed, he seemed fond of the 6269318 marine manifold. No clue why.
