Going through this 8.2 inch 10 bolt for the El Camino.

One axle just barely discolored where the factory bearing rides. The other is a little worse and starting to wear.

I have never used the "axle saver" bearings. Anyone here have experience with them. Seems the extra lip for the seal would stick out enough that one couldn't get the axle in far enough to get the c clip in. But then, they are selling them so they must at least be functional.

Maybe others have had better luck than I have with the Green bearings but I had BOTH sides fail in a '70 Chevelle 12-bolt after less than a thousand miles.

ive used them and never had an issue...they where on stock rear..with low horsepower motors and autos..but they lasted longer than i owned the cars..

i think i can remember at least 4 or 5 cars over the years i used them on..one was a 71 elcamino 350 2bbl auto

lynn what part of Okla? i have a friend in wichita that does circle track cars and he always has 8.2s and 8.5s around..he buys frames as rollers often...he scraps the rear if they are nothing type rear ends..like not posi is what i meant...ive got some really nice stuff from him in the past..i will be down there in a week or so for work and can check if you want me to

I am in Guthrie, North of OKC. Just about 1.5 hours from Wichita.

It's a hassle sometimes to get the "C" clip installed -- you really have to push in on the axle. I've used these type of bearings with no issues ... TAX
