Does anyone know the Astro Blue LS6 at Ruuso? Black bench 4 speed with 4.10s. I can't find the link.
Lot #670,bid to 100K was a no sale.
I thought I knew this car from my past, but that one had bucket seats,so it's not one I'm familiar with.

Car is a good car and is tentatively sold. It was Diamond Certified back in I think 2003 and scored 5293 points out of 5500 beating my Shadow Grey LS6 restoration by six points. It was the second highest scoring LS6 at that time and was a beautiful restoration by Nyles at Wings Auto Art. All born with drive train and mostly original parts. A good buy at $140.

There was also a neat red COPO Camaro at Russo that did not sell. I think it bid to 140K. You walk right by it because of the TA radial tires on it, non smog manifolds with heat shields....Then you look closer and it appears all orig interior, black vinyl top. 140 speedo, COPO Connection cert showing double COPO, X11 car, Protecto plate and purchase papers from Ed Stinn ? Stated all orig drivetrain. Cool car that I don't remember seeing before.

It sounds like the car that CK Spurlock bought at a Super Chevy Sunday Show @ Indy back in the 80s. That car was a double copo from Ed Stinn Chevrolet. Was featured in Super Chevy Magazine later.

This is the Camaro that Charley was talking about:

Nice car. An original Stinn mechanic that worked at the dealership, and who frequents the local car scene during the summer; said all the Stinn COPO Camaros came with a vinyl top. Does this car have the NCRS on it?

I downloaded the engine pics, and the 6 6 in the VIN stamp on the front of the block (top does not roll over), looks different than the 66 in the back of the block, and definitely the trans. Other than that, what a nice car.

I believe that is the same Ed Stinn COPO that Bob Ehrhart and then C.K. Spurlock owned back in the late 80's or early 90's. I have in my notes that the car they had contained a CE block, so if this is the same car it was most likely restamped.
That LS6 Chevelle looks familiar too. I saw one similar to it back in the 90's. That one was from Nebraska I believe and was owned by a Mr. Lang. His car was a Astro Blue with black stripes and had a bench seat, M22 trans and 4.10 gears. It was said to be all numbers matching. It looks like the same car, but I can't verify that.

I believe Glen Weaver owned this LS6 at one time.

I don't think there were any pics of the COPO's engine pad and when I tried to look at the auction the pad was painted. Restamp probably explains why there were no pics of the pad.

The Garnet Red COPO Camaro from Ed Stinn was featured in the October 1988 issue of Guide to Muscle Cars. At that time is was owned by Bob Ehrhart of Memphis TN. In the story it states he tracked down all of the previous owners and obtained all of the original documentation. There is a photo of the dealer sales order form in the magazine showing a John Bricker as the original owner. It also states that the car had 31K miles and only needed engine detailing and paint to bring it to show condition. It was repainted my Mike Dill at the Memphis Auto Center.
