Gallon of Milk is almost $4 here in NY, gas about $1.80. As much as your gas is cheaper, retirement/stock portfolios are getting crushed, partially as a result of it. I'll pay more for gas to get higher stock prices, my $.02

Yep, getting sick of the gas price games. $1.30 when I left for work passing by three gas stations at an intersection. Everyone of them were $1.59 when I came home. Sure, they all got an expensive delivery on the same day. It happens with these three more often than not. I have been liking the $1.30 though. Come on $.99 !!!!!!

Although cheaper of late, Canada gasoline is still a rip w/ an average today of @ 83.7 cents Canadian per Litre of regular x 3.785 Ltr/US gallon divided by the current 1.4 US/Canada dollar exchange = $2.26 US $ per US gallon or $3.17 Canadian per US gallon for us poor Canadians.

I know the domestic petroleum industry is really getting hurt but I, personally, appreciate the lower gas prices. A family member lost his job and my workplace traditionally lends to a lot of individuals in the oil industry but we're holding our own. In the grand scheme of things, I think more people are benefitting from the lower gas prices than have been hurt. And regarding the stock prices, I view it as just an opportunity to buy, unless of course you're retired and relying on those stocks for your short term income.

Those who were doing well (stocks) when prices were high are dealing with the cyclical nature of such things. I would thing that in the long run, they should still be $$ ahead...as gas prices have been higher longer than they have been cheap.

BTW, gas here in AZ is around 1.55 ish a gallon....

I'm still paying $2.69 a gallon for 91 as of last Thursday when I filled up a couple cars.

But that's still cheaper than it's been as I usually pay around $3.29 where it's been for years.

Yesterday's new Opec deal to cut production should increase prices but some groups taking anything they can get to keep $ flowing.
Best I've seen was a week ago @ 61 Cents but today's average here in Peterboro' Ontario is 75 Cents Canadian per Litre for Regular.
.75 x 3.75 Ltr/US gallon = $2.84 Canadian per US gallon.
.75 x 3.785 Ltr/US gallon w/ today's 1.4 US/Canada dollar exchange = 2.02 US per US gallon.

Gas should start going up after the OPEC deal. Looks like Brent crude is up 6% right now.

You're cheaper than here:

That's an interesting chart. I've noticed Costco is about the only place that has gas under $2 up here too but I think that's for the really low grade stuff.

I can only run 91 in our old cars so I'm used to paying higher prices but it seems I never really see the big fluctuations in prices here in AZ like other states. 91 here did go from $3.29, which I've been paying for years, down to $2.69 last week at the local station I use. That's the first time I've seen a drop below $3 in several years. Any other time there is a price fluctuation across the country, it never really budges here, least not for 91 anyway.

The state's FAQ on the order dispels the claim, stating “while the order places certain limits on how goods are sold, it does not ban Michiganders from buying any item, including flags.” A representative from the state’s press office also told USA TODAY that Whitmer is not banning the sale of US flags.

The order also notes large stores must close off areas of stores meant for carpeting, flooring, furniture, gardening and paint. The limits only apply to in-person sales and do not apply to stores with less than 50,000 square feet.

Just bought some regular for $2.05/gallon in western Mass....NYS is still about .20/gal higher...but, then again we are always higher on everything.

As for the Michigan situation...it is another example of the deep divide that exists in our nation...the COVID-19 issue has helped to make it even more pronounced. What we need now, more than ever, is 'compassionate leadership'...not more decrees and executive orders that further the divide.

Most people will do the right thing if you approach them with respect and offer sensible recommendations...I believe the carrot is always better than the stick.

Retailers are in a feeding frenzy, once they start going up and they see they can get good margins they rake it in until one brand or company starts lowering prices again.
