I have a Hurst shifter that I can't get the handle to release. Thus I can't see the handle number to ID it.
Any guesses on the application? The threads on the handle are small, btw.
Kurt you may need to use a little bit of heat on the base of the handle in order to release it.

That looks like a shifter that I have with that bent looking handle which I can't get out also the body is a 3138

i'm not positive but i think dart
if the long lever/reverse on the bottom is curved its a dodge dart/a-body prob over the counter if its super long and straight its an over the counter dart..too..
id say pretty sure its dart ive had a bunch...with the weird threads fat arm its early..real early...i think hurst stopped that in 64ish
looks like a bench seat application but the stick was cut down and turned and re threaded
,don't think would come from Hurst like that
does it have a date code? or numbers on the levers?
sometimes you can use a long 1/4 punch to drive the stick out from the bottom or disassemble it and drive it out from bottom

Mark,
Good call. I finally worked the handle out and it's a 7036, which comes back as a 1969-1971 MOPAR A Body.
Date on it is 290421C. So Feb 69.
Why do you think it could be over the counter? I didn't think the aftermarket ones ever used a slip-in handle.
Thanks!!

the threaded end..i couldnt tell if it was cut and re threaded or if it was made that way
early Hurst shifter had some weird handle ends with weird threads..hard to tell with pics posted..it was a guess on over the counter..every time you think youve seen it all..something new pops up
if its factory its missing about 3 inches...ive had many..its a little short.
youd be shocked how many thing those are 67 GTO bench shifters..ive seen way over 100 listed as gti or nova bench seat..that handle is is unique to the darts/a-body's

Definitely has been cut at the top and rethreaded. That's 4 speed bench seat A Body Mopar.

I realized that the end was way short when I was looking at ebay. Yup, about 3". So the value is in the shifter, not the handle. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/smile.gif
Thanks!
