2016 MCACN "Day2 Invitational" Showcase

I am very pleased and excited to be asked to assist in assembling the 2016 MCACN "Day2 Invitational" Showcase.

This is a unique showcase feturing these special cars that are either authentic significant cars before they were &quot;Day 2'd&quot; in <span style="font-weight: bold">Original Unrestored</span> condition or <span style="font-weight: bold">Restored</span> to &quot;Day2&quot; condition. This will include both Dealer Supercars from Nickey, Mr. Norm’s and Yenko etc. and period correct owner personalized cars from “back in the day.”

We already have a roster of cars entered. I will post the owners names and the cars shortly.

Concours Day 2 Judged Vehicles: Vehicles are judged on a 1,000 point scale with no deductions taken for period correct accessories and modifications, including era correct drive-train and wheel and/or tire swaps. Note; deviations from stock must be deemed “period correct.” This is not a class for clones or tributes. VIN must match car being presented. The modifications you will see on these cars are authentic to the day, within two years of the production year of the car with owner modified cars that were done &quot;back in the day&quot; using all period correct parts and modifications.

Thanks Dan and Chevyman! The old street fighter appears today exactly as it did in '68-'69. Minor correction Dan, I purchased it from the original owner in October of '67, my first car. Day two modifications began soon after. Looking forward to joining the display at MCACN!

This just keeps getting better and better. Initially, we figured on a circle of eight cars. Well...as you can see, we have blasted past the &quot;eight car&quot; mark! We have decided to roll with a circle featuring a variety of brands, and then a separate row, angled parked, featuring Chevelles and Camaro's.

And with that being said, I'll let Dan announce the latest confirmed entry, that just happens to be owned by one of the sYc's very good friends and long time supporters. Here's a hint; the car may have started in Michigan, (cough-cough; Grand Rapids) but it now resides in AZ!

I can't even explain how excited I am to meet all of you and check out all of these Day 2 cars! This isn't my first rodeo at MCACN. I have attended all but the first year. Dan and I texted each other all through the World Series (yes I am from Cleveland) He has promised to buy me a beer to celebrate the win. I am sure I will buy him one also! Now that my head is a bit clear and I have had some rest.....I can try to sum it up. However I feel like a broken record....as I seem to say the same things over and over each year.... as it is all true. How does a show get better and better each and every year.....well the MCACN Show Certainly DOES!

I wish to Thank Vicki and Bob for all that they do.....and the entire staff and crew behind the scenes. YOU GUYS AND GALS ROCK!

We had 565 cars in the show.....and I think I heard only one small complaint......that I personally resolved myself.

WOW, that a show, what a showcase.....I want to personally thank all the great guys and one gal that attended the Day2 Showcase. We were able to have a final amazing count of 23 amazing Day2 Cars of many makes and models. I believe I personally thanked you all for attending and making this showcase a Huge Hit.

I cannot wait until 2017, I am already working on next year.

What a great time Tracey and I had this year. While we have attended MCACN plenty of other times, this was the first time we have shown a car. We had such a good time!

Dan...........you made a tremendous host. It was a killer display............killer cars............owned by killer people. Your passion is very evident in meeting you and seeing the byproduct of your work. Obviously, events like this do not just fall together without a large amount of persistent long term effort.

I will have a better shot for all to see today, what started as kind of a joke seemed to be well recieved. I am sorting some shots of all the very correct Day 2 stuff Grady put on this car and will post them soon. Still do not have any good daytime shots of the car outside, hard color for a camera hack like me to shoot.
And Grady was VERY driven to use all period correct Day 2 bolt on stuff, some of it $$$ but as it turned out well worth it. One of the last pieces he scored was the all plastic Hurst roll control switch.
And thanks Bob, Vicki, and all the crew for another benchmark show. Bob I wanted to let you know the move out was great this year for us, thanks for the adjustments made to accomplish this for the box trailer guys. Only 2 hrs and 15 min from retrieving the truck to the ramp @ I 294. Awesome <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/youguysrock.gif

Grady's Burnished Brown Beauty stood out among some fantastic pieces of art in the Day 2 Showcase. We met some fantastic people with some beautiful cars. It was our first time attending the show, but we intend to return!
