How many do you have?
Perhaps just post a picture of the 6 digit code that stamped along the edge and just above the lower bolt hole. Or type what it reads here? I asked you for that and after telling you how that decodes you asked me what date I'm looking for. How about we start with the one you were offering first?

That statement in his book is incorrect, there is dating on the body of the shifter. You have a picture posted of the date but its difficult to make out.
My 2D built car has a shifter pictured below and the date is 19 = Jan of 1969

One appears to be 1966 while the others appear to be 1970. Complete pictures would also show differences in the upper handle configurations as there are different offsets, handle styles and heights. I'm no shifter expert but think you might have some 1970 shifter bodies and one that's a 66.

Pardon me, one that's mid year 65.
I have spoken to Pete at length on Hurst shifter Bodies and there are many differences within the bodies that make the way they shift quite different. This includes numerous changes to the Hurst 69 model year where refinements and changes are present within the shifter body to provide function changes as the locking steering columns were introduced. The 3138 bodies were made and used in a lot of different GM products and the year make and model can have a huge variance on a particular shifters value and desirability. Hope that helps.
