was wondering if i can get any input. i know this question has been asked, & i have done some homework, but i'd like to figure out what the value of a 87 grand national is valued at. 113,000 miles, interior very clean, been repainted once, has a after market stereo, no leaks of any fluids as i can see, no dings in the body. no t top roof. Many thanks for your input. If i don't buy this car, looking to buy a 83 hurst olds with 88,000 miles. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics/usergals/2016/04/full-19922-41933-00000_5m9mupte7as_600x450.jpg

I'd say mid teens. Would be higher with lower mileage. I'd get it over the olds. Much more fun to drive.

Looks like it's been well cared for; not sure about the value. Personally I'd prefer one without the T-tops; and I would chose a GN over the Olds any day.

I have owned both, The Olds was a neat car but would not get out of its own way, I had to replace the powerplant with a W31 350, I was also caretaker to a GNX which was a blast to drive and would get out of it's own way. I would go with the GN...

When I was a younger man, I got a ride in an '86 or '87 GN and all I can say is that thing was REALLY fast. It surprised the "you know what" out of me. Pinned me in the seat like nobody's business.
Go for the GN . . .

Typically with that many miles id say 9,500 range to 11 but she looks like she was treated well and not ridden hard and put away wet .. Id say 12 to 13,500 .. These cars will snap some heads back. The 89 TTA with the GN motor will do some damage as well .. Good luck and just know if you buy it we expect some smokey photos

I saw this the other day, not the same body, but maybe just as fast. And a lot cheaper.

Looks like someone converted the power brakes from the Hydroboost system to a more conventional vacuum booster?
I think +/- $10k.

Dang, wrong again. I just ready Buick planned to put the turbo in the lesabre back then, but the trans could not handle it. But they kept the 'T' in the branding of the car, which thus fooled me. Always assumed T-type was a turbo V6.

Non-turbo "Grand National" from 1986.
I think the 1987-1989 3.8 turbo cars are the benchmark cars of the 1980's. Funny back then, the turbo 6 was a bit of counter culture idea in muscle car genre but with so many successful turbo cars after the GN- the ideology has shifted.
In my mind, the public perception of what it is like to own a turbo car shifted- largely in part to the refinement of the 3.8 SFI turbo cars.

Thank you for all of your input. Price has been dropped to 13,500.00 I always wanted a hurst olds but this one is just as rare. I owned many olds before and same problems. Hopefully i will get it even lower. Thanks again

With the world's first Turbo car,the Olds Jetfire, nobody even knew what a Turbo was! Oldsmobile had to explain it in the brochures.
This was way before the Buick, its the Buick Turbo's grandaddy

So you brought the GN? you will have fun with that car. A lot can be learned over at the Turbobuick.com forum.
A lot of Turbo Buick knowledge hangs out there. Good Luck with her...

Good luck with the GN.You'll have a lot of fun.I had my own shop for 25 years and all we did were Turbo Buicks.Make sure who ever works on the car knows GNs.I had many GM dealers send me a GN that their class A mechanics couldn't figure out.A good source for parts is Kirban Performance. To start, get his Boost Regulator Vacuum Hose.I replaced many a head gasket because this hose got brittle and cracked or fell off.Next get their body bushing kit.You won't believe the difference in the ride.
With just a few inexpensive parts you can get the car into the low 12s and still get 25MPG.

some of the best street racing memories I have were the mid 80s.5.0 Mustangs, IROCs and GN's, not incredibly fast, but tons of fun and all pretty evenly matched. Had a 88 5.0 LX stripper and still can hear the GNs turbo spooling up against the brake waiting for the light to change. Good times and good luck with car
