----WTB,,,1969 El Camino. Must be 350/auto/AC. Must also be nearly original. No SS wannabes, please. The nicer the better. I don't need another resto as I have a mid 70s Donzi 24 foot boat I'm trying to finish. Really would like and would probably pay up for would be the best around, although I want to use it so Id have to be talked into a trailer queen. Thanks SYC!!!......Bill S

Too bad Bill. That's what mine is. Other then that, born with 350/300hp, Turbo 350, Steering, brakes & CAC. The SS stuff is all external for "the look". (I didn't do it)

Bill there's a red one not sure if it's a 68 or 69 sitting in auburn hills Mi Iv only looked from the road but it appears to be a very very nice car. If I can remember I'll drive by tomorrow and take some pics. Thought I seen SS emblems on it but not for sure

Makes my 68 look REALLY ugly. Actually the ugliness on mine stands on its own merit.

This is no trailer queen... but if its not too rough around the edges, it would make a neat driver for the right person.

Factory air on a 60's El Camino just not that common.

Verne_Frantz
05-22-2016, 06:55 PM
Elkys with Air are COOL. They'll freeze you out since they only have to cool half a car. Had mine converted to 134 with the correct hoses, etc but they used the original fittings so it looks stock. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/naughty.gif

Sorry to hear about your wife's issues, Bill. I guess she'd be ok with silver on black huh? Janet told me I have to keep it, but if she changes her mind, you'll be the first to know. Good luck with your search in the meantime.

----I did want a 69, Verne, but this 67 (I had a 67 SS new) really talked to me. It has more options on the original build sheet than any 67 El Camino I have ever seen. Factory AC, tilt, PW, buckets w/headrests, console, deluxe belts, 325/396, st +brks, gauges, disc brakes, HD susp, bumper guards, remote control mirror (not on the car at present) Its a Cal. car and lived with the original owner until 2010. I have a stack of bills an inch high. Plus, I bought it from Jacquie Benthin so I was pretty sure what I was getting. Its a relative high miler so there are things to correct, but nothing major at all. I got the vintage American wheels from Jason in Cal. and spent about two days detailing them. The car came with new style chromed Americans and huge tires and just didn't look right. Id still by the right 69 as that's what the wife likes, but so far I'm having fun with this 67.......Bill S

Purely for education, is the SS emblem correct? I thought the Super Sport was not an option in the El Camino but the big block was? But I maybe incorrect Thanks

olredalert
09-08-2016, 03:22 PM
----The SS emblem was added by the original owner. I just haven't removed it yet. Part of the reason I liked this El Camino was the fact that no one installed an SS hood. Every one you see on E-bay, weather small or big block, seems to have been changed. The SS hood is cool, of course, just not original......Bill S
