1966 Chevelle SS Convertible with GM of Canada Documentation, This is a real SS and have a copy of the build sheet from GM of Canada. According to the GM documentation this car is 1 of 757 built. Was a factory 283 Powerglide car. 1966 Canadian cars have a A51 Sports Package option which makes it a Malibu SS, This was not available in the US. In 1966 and part of 1967 There were no 138 Chevelle SS cars made for the Canadian market, these were all the A51 cars whether they had a small block or big block engine. These cars were all made in Canada also. This was the same as the 1966 and 1967 Beaumont also.

The car only has 682 miles on it since the restoration was completed in 2012. Since the restoration was completed the car has never been out in the rain and only driven on a perfect day.

The car has over $70,000 invested.

$30,000 in paint/body work to make every gap perfect, all body panels perfectly straight and the paint to look and shine like glass.

Factory options include, power windows, power top, power brakes, power steering, tinted windows, deluxe seat belts, bucket seats and console with clock.

Added options include Big block hood, tilt steering column, factory guage package, tachometer, disc brakes, 3:73 posi and a 700 R4 automatic transmission with proper shifter assembly for the 4 speed automatic and 4 speed shifter lens. Was originally a powerglide transmission.

I just installed a new quick ratio steering box this week also, it is a 2 1/2 turn lock to lock, the factory one has a 3 1/2 turn lock to lock.

This car has had a very good quality restoration with a very straight body and a very nice paint job. Perfect gaps on all panels.

The color of the car is called Dark Crimson Metallic or Black Cherry Metallic which is an original GM color that was used on many GM vehicles. It is a base clear paint job and the materials used were Duponts highest quality paint and clear coat.

The car looks Black at night and in the garage when parked inside. The actual color of the car is best seen on the picture of the underside of the trunk lid where the sun shines on the edges.

The drive train has been completely rebuilt including engine, transmission and rear end. All steering and brake components have all been replaced.

When i purchased the car the previous owner told me the block is the original 283 block in the car. I have checked the casting number and is the correct casting for a 1966 and 1967 Chevelle.
The heads were updated to 350 heads for the larger valves. The engine runs very well.
From what I remember it was bored 30 over which makes it roughly 301 cubic inch.

There is now a New Edelbrock 4 Barrel intake & New Edelbrock Carb, Edelbrock in line fuel filter, Edelbrock aluminum fuel pump, Hooker Competition ceramic coated headers, Billet aluminum HEI ignition and a complete new serpentine belt and pulley system with updated new style alternator.

All engine pulleys are polished aluminum as well as the alternator. New everything in the engine bay like rad, rad shroud, power steering pump, Quick ratio power steering box, belts, heater motor, wiper motor and every thing else in the engine bay.

Valve covers, air cleaner, spark plug wire routing brackets are all billet aluminum parts by Billet Specialties.

New brake booster, master cylinder, proportioning valve, disc brake rotors, pads and brake shoes, rubber brake lines, all e-brake cables, stainless brake and fuel lines.

Tires and rims are all brand new.

Rears are 15x8 Rev Classic 100 Torq Thrust with BF Goodrich Radial T/A 255/60/15.

Fronts are 15x7 Rev Classic 100 Torque Thrust with BF Goodrich Radial T/A 245/60/15.

The wheels are the machined lip with anthacrite (silver grey) spokes and have the clear finish. Very nice wheel. Licenced by American Racing.

The interior is perfect with everything new or restored including seats, console, dash pad, carpet, every lens and switch, steering wheel, tilt column, door panels, latches, power window motors, switches and more.

All glass is tinted and is brand new including windshield, door glass and quarter windows. The 1/4 window chrome strips and every peice of weather stripping on the complete car is also new.

Every peice of Chrome or stainless has either been replated, polished or replaced.

The convertible top is installed perfectly, new sun visors, rear view mirror, rear pinchwell chrome, both door mirrors are all new.

Also included is a brand new convertible top boot cover to cover the frame and top when down. This is the factory style cover.

The top frame has been removed and completely restored, convertible top switch, hoses, pump, curcuit breaker and wiring are all new. Works great.

Every wiring harness in the car front to back including engine bay, lighting, under dash, front to back intermediate harness and rear harness are all brand new with the best quality reproduction factory style harnesses.

Has all new T-3 headlights, all lenses, lighting components and trim are all brand new.

283 + .030 comes out to a 287, but who's counting. Pretty car.

GM of Canada Documentation. I may consider trades or part trades but I am in Canada.
I have never seen GM of Canada direct sale before under Dealer.
