I just shipped an Ls6 radiator out with an I date code on the tank ,so im thinking you are right on the NOV date. They certainly used I on the tank letter codes, for example I also thought the items not using the letter I was for electrical items only [starters.distributiors, alternators, etc etc ] Also that can be used as a 68 date or 69 date due to the strike.

Correction Tony on MY part.
My 1969 Z/28 (11D): radiator has an "L"
My 1969 SS nova (11B): radiator has a "K"
So, The "I" is in for radiators I assume.
The King is right about the electrical parts too.

Not to beat a dead horse , but to set the record straight: K is an October radiator Sammy is correct and there was no strike causing the run extension of 69 Camaros. The extension was due to engineering problems with quarter stampings on the new 70 body.

To set the record straight, Ive had two chevelle radiators that had an I tank and a dot next to it.

You may be correct for a 70 Chevelle but not for a 67-69 Camaro.. <span style="font-weight: bold">IF</span> they had an "I" then you wouldnt have a "M" date code for Dec..

#186 heads HAVE M dates , and the letter I WAS used in cylinder head castings

Are we talking radiators or cylinder heads..??.. Lets keep it on one subject so it doesn't get confusing.

Well you pointed out that since the letter M was used in a radiator, that the letter I couldnt be possible as there would be 13 letter months in a year . I just gave an example of a part having I and M usage. And Ive already stated I have had 2 I date radiators. 70 radiators also have M dates.

So where is the 13th month? 32nd of Nevermber? This is not as cut and dry as some might think. Do we have any witnessed "I" radiators for a Camaro? Also this discussion probably needs to move from this thread into its own.

I originally posted to try and help Tony sell his radiator. I will keep my findings to myself from this point forward. Sometimes it takes more than google search to find answers to alot of technical questions.

Not pertinent to the rad question, but M-coded heads denotes a foundry evaluation piece, rather than a casting date code; similar to the M-code block castings described in the CRG drivetrain decode section. I have a pair of 'M' 186 heads on my Camaro.
