Mopar guy needs 1970 L78 help

I think it's odd how they stopped the milling machine in straight line to leave stamp. Is this possible?

Yep. With the head on it might not look so obvious

Even with the head on it would be obvious, (hint) it has to do with the Vin#. They don't know or have not seen a real kansas vin#.

Vin number should be smaller and not the same size as engine plant number.Maybe someone can post a pic of the correct size font for vin number.

that is not the case on a Kansas VIN stamp as they are unlike all the other plants which are in fact smaller.

I call it inexpensive insurance. I once inspected a $140K LS6 for a customer and determined it to be a fraud in about 15 minutes of inspection time. I apologized to the buyer that he spent a lot of money only to find out immediately that it was a fake. His response was that I did not cost him money but rather that I saved him $140,000. I now have a different attitude about it.

X2 Rick, I did two inspections this year that took me less then 2 minutes to do by looking at the build sheet first before the car itself and they were clearly fakes. Buyer's were happy to pay the small fee compared to the whole fee of the mega buck car. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/biggthumpup.gif

It's on eBay now: I wrote to him and told him the window sticker, car shipper and build sheet are all repros, and he sent me back a very nasty note telling me he had all the docs reviewed by the best Chevelle people in the business and I didn't know what I was talking about. I feel bad for all the bidders that don't know better.......

So, is the POP genuine? Reason I ask is that Joseph Hughes may be gone, but his wife Bette Lou Hughes still lives at the same address as on the POP.
most of the fake POP's I see have fake addresses. If the person is real, it just happens to be someone who recently died (or died right before they printed up the POP).
So, is that POP likely real? If so, may be a real L78 car, but they faked the engine.

If the wife is still at that address, and someone is obsessed with getting this car, it may be worth trying to reach her and get confirmation of the car did exist and maybe she has pictures or something else on it. Then that could help vindicate the POP may be real.
