Just curious, but what makes this an L78? The only thing I see is the 3/8" fuel line that would ID it.

I guess the fuel line and the deep groove pulley found in the trunk? I'm surprised Jerry certified it as an L78, not a heck of a lot to go on to say the least.

Yeah there isnt a lot to go on but that fuel line is pretty key considering the age of the deterioration. Not saying Im on anyones level but if I saw that in the state its in I would be it was potentially a L78 just wouldnt hang my hat on it unless I knew the history or the block was known or found..

There's certainly not much left to confirm it's original configuration. The cost to resurrect this car to its value estimates, will be far exceeded. If you like originality and concrete provenance this isn't the project for you...

The quarters were unrestored right off the car.

I saw it on eBay and when it ended at that price, I thought to myself, " There is where two fools met; one for offering $20grand for that rat, and the other for not taking it". Still scratching my head over that one.
Never got an opening bid. That should tell you something.

Maybe three fools! I never saw that it had no bidders, just saw "ended" and started wondering.
