I'm always interested in seeing something off the beaten path.
My friend saw this in NB, Canada.

Nice! Reminds me of our 1986 Chevy Suburban K2500 that we ordered in gold with tan interior. It arrived two months later at the end of the model year buildout as a gold with bright blue interior. It would have been the perfect tow vehicle for this Camaro.

Not only the color combination, but a bench seat, fold down rear seat, column shift, with tilt. 1 of 1 for sure.

Hard on the eyes but what an options list ... Definitely an odd ball

First I have ever seen this combo. Seen plenty of Gold with Green interiors, but never a Blue one.
Love it!
And those radials got to go.

Agreed, that is indeed hard to look at.

As far as odd combos go, I don't think this one is as odd as it initially appears.
It's been awhile since I've seen the Color Wheel, but I have worked with graphic designers and have a sensibility with color.
Gold seems to be a rather neutral color that matches a lot of things. For example, check out this Olds doc that shows gold to be a stripe choice available for Aegean Aqua.
I think red is another somewhat neutral color. Ever see a 1969 GTX? The lower-body stripes were only available in white or red. What about the 1971 GT-37 stripes? They were only available in red/black or red/white. Clearly, the designers felt either of these would match the color palette for 1971.
I think this Camaro would be easier to "see" in blue with a gold interior, but it stands out more the way it is.

It is a restored car - he had guts to go with the original colors.
Unlike another 68 - turquoise with turquoise bench seat, rare floor shift auto, documented. Restored (and didn't need it!) red, buckets, console, 4 speed. Guy said it was different and he didn't like that. Yup, now it is just like all the other cars...
