A fire truck all by itself is a distraction to the driving public so a flag would hardly add to that but that is the whole point, stop and get out of the way. TO BE SEEN and HEARD. What is this country coming to?????

another step in the wrong direction for this country. those "decision makers" need to be voted out and/or fired.

What timing...We were just told we had to remove our POW / MIA flag from our shop. It was hanging along with the Ohio state flag and the US flag. Sales was scheduled to do a plant tour with a Vietnamese customer and they felt they "could" be offended. The memo went out to take down the flag and all hell broke loose in the plant. Everyone in the plant "WAS" offended. I purchased new POW T shirts to wear instead.. HR got involved and guess what? They flag is back were it belongs. The world is getting too PC...

The fact that there are "Americans" trying to push this crap through really bothers me ... If anyone is ashamed or offended by our flag's then feel free to try another country and see if they are as understanding to your sensitive needs. Absolutely ridiculous ... These people should be ashamed of themselves <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/flag.gif <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/flag.gif <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/flag.gif

There are no Americans pushing this crap. There are plenty of scumbags that live in America pushing this crap though.

Sorry but most of us here are all immigrants if you dig back far enough and I have no problem w/ someone who wants peace/freedom to raise their families here in the US and Canada also is wanting/willing to leave the grief of their old worlds behind them.
What I don't get is how so many who flee countries of strife don't seem to appreciate peace/freedom etc and want to kiss the soil and salute the Flags of their new homes also keep it free of the type of individuals and BS they fled from...not bring grief/customs/unsavory characters over here to North America thus ruining this world too?

Pete, it comes down to assimilation. I believe it's fine to keep some of your customs and love of your native country of course, but if you come to America, you should want to become part of America, strive to meet your version of the American dream, and be a contributing member of society, and all of that includes learning English. I'm from an immigrant-heavy (including many, many illegal immigrants) who are happy to function in a gray area of America, and that's unacceptable. Register, pay taxes, become part of the Great Experiment. Just my opinion.

I think you'll find a majority of the pot stirrers of today were born here and have never set foot out of their ghetto. I'll leave politics out of this... Actual immigrants who come to this country legally I think you'll find are more American then half the people who have lived here their whole lives. I think they probably appreciate the Constitution and Bill of Rights more than most people know.

FWIW...Our POW/MIA flag is back in the air. A new flag was ordered with funds donated to the cause...

Things are different now from what it was in the past. It's a mix. There are those that come here from other countries legally and want to be American. Then there those that come here illegally and rape the system. That includes those that come here and don't want to be American. They want to be whatever they are, except in America. They don't want to be part of the system, they just want everything it has to offer. My Great-Grandfather came to the United States because of the threat of extermination. That was around 1914-15 through Ellis Island. He and his family wanted to be American and did everything they could to be that way. On his tombstone it says "America is Heaven". I remember the phrase "Love It Or Leave It". I still agree with that.

You know what we need? A president who does not give a sh!t about being politically correct or care what people think about them and not always say and do what they are coached to do. Maybe that person can wake up this country.
