Im going to be listing this YH rally wheel for sale and i want to make sure im reading the date correct.

Im seeing K-1-9 would you guys agree?

Yes, and it appears to be a '10' for the month (so October of '69 - a late wheel); on the other side of the stem hole will be the day and the YH ...
PS. beadblasting that area will make it much easier to read.. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/smile.gif

I'd say less than that due to condition and that late of a date.

isn't beadblasting less damaging than sandblasting?

bead blasting will give you a finer finish. With sand blasting, it depends on the grit used what finish you will get. I generally use the FINE or EXTRA FINE grit sandblasting sand. If you maintain proper air pressure (not too high ie. 75-85 ps), your results will be fine on the wheels.
