For Sale is a Chevrolet Big Block 396 High Performance L78 which was factory rated at 375 horsepower. According to the casting numbers, this engine was casted in 1969. These are the original rectangular port heads. The books show these heads being produced from 1967-69, assembled on both 396 and 427 engines, 107 CC chambers, and valve size 2.19 intake, 1.88 exhaust. Please look up the casting numbers below and verify yourself. This engine ran good when pulled from a 1969 Chevelle SS ~10 years ago. The original exhaust manifolds may be available upon request.
The engine is located in Western Maryland and will need to be picked up in that location. Please contact me via the contact information below to ask questions and arrange a viewings.
