Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't there a missing Z16 convertible.

That car is really cool! Having owned my 65 since 1990, it just seems like the popular option is if it isn't a Z-16 then there is little to get excited about.
Now I disagree, since the 65 Malibu cars were 1st to come with a 12- bolt, had the L-79 option and all the standard components of Chevy's reliable muscle car checklist. Even the weight of a 65 is on part with a Camaro!
Just be cautious not to overpay. The buyers pool for that car is much shallower than all the other cars I've seen you find.

Looks like some homemade suspension components. Gotta love the "Zig Zag" decal. Brent is it a running, driving car? What drivetrain? I see a tunnel ram and 4-speed. Anything real cool like a L88 hiding in there????

That is cool!!!
I would guess 10-15k. If you can make it a runner and enjoyable it leaves you room.

Paul I was also thinking between 12,000-15,000 k. If you end up with the car gotta leave it alone I would anyway

If it helps, I know a guy that just sold a convert barn car that was all original, 327 300hp 4spd, original drivetrain including carb. Nice colors. Sat in a dry barn for a long time, it did run. Very solid. $15K. top was shot. tires shot. I knew the car very well, been all over it a few times.
Years ago, I helped the same guy sell a very rough one (auto), very rusty frame, but with rare 1 of 20 with power buckets for 4K. Could not find a buyer wanting to step up.
Based on that, I would slant more towards the 10K. I know the trim on that car is very expensive around the top, make sure its all there.

With those flared out rear wheel openings, I would say more in the range of $6 - $8K.

At that range, you likely could part it out and still come out ahead.

Gas it with a straight axel, get running, clean and leave the rest alone, Brent.
I think $12,500 might be fair if engine will hand turn over

Apparently this is what the owner Said grumpy Jenkins did the carbs and Malcolm Durham did the motor and help set up the car .the car hasn't run since 1976

Cool car. I wonder who will buy it (a nostalic drag racer guy, or a person looking for a rust free convert to restore).
