I like to wet sand with 2500, then 3000, then to buffing - it's therapeutic...

I have a hard scotch-brite wheel that works wonders before buffing...some tig gloves to hold the trim and buff away...send me a pic Rich.

Just make sure it is bare stainless.. On some stainless trim on Camaros it is hard chrome over stainless. You can end up buffing past the hard chrome and into the stainless. It will have a yellowish tint to the stainless where its more of a blue chrome finish.. If that makes sense. Ill post pics later on if you want to see how mine turned out after I worked dents out and polished them out.

...and make sure you keep a real good hold of the trim while using the buffing wheel on it, can become deadly projectiles in a heartbeat.

Or suck your hand right under the wheel.
