I bought this Chevelle recently to use as a driver. After getting it into show condition and asking some of my car friends the answer is this , It's too nice to drive . 1970 SS 396 L34 Chevelle , Atlanta built and documented. Sold new at Paget Chevrolet on April 24th 1970 to Lewis Grestie Jr. It went out the door for $ 3818.10 after a $ 626.90 discount. The exterior color is Baroque gold , interior is ivory and vinyl top is white. It has P/S , PDB , AM Radio , M40 Transmission ,Tinted glass and air conditioning. It also has F41 Performance Suspension , Trim 790 Bench Seat and column shifter too. In the list of documentation are these ; Build Sheets , Protect O Plate and dealer sales contract. It has the born with matching numbers Engine , Transmission, Rear end , Carburetor ,Alternator and a correct dated distributor that I found and installed . The trim tag shows a build of 03B . I have recently installed a reproduction fan clutch , correct can style transmission modulator , Starter , battery , Air filter element , lug nut set and the correct 1970 horn shroud. It was body off restored in 2010 and I got it from the second owner. The entire interior was replaced , All suspension parts are new , P/S Box and hoses , All brake parts , fuel and brake lines are new also. Gas tank and all rubber lines , fuel pump and the carburetor was plated and restored too. Very clean frame and control arms , they are near perfect with almost zero pitting . All of the electrical system has been refurbished, original alternator has been rebuilt. It has 4 reproduction spiral shocks . The block pad has been verified as original , the transmission VIN stamp is mint clear also. Paint was done after great body work , bumpers are new , stainless trim is very nice. Some photos of this car are in Member's Rides and if you need more text or call me at 918 381 1234 . Scott , This car is located in Oklahoma . The asking price is $45,000 . Trades are always an option.

This car with all of it's documentation , condition and all of it matching numbers would make a great trailered show car. I got a question on the trades just now . Any 1970 to 1972 GM A body that is documented , any 1970 SS Nova that is documented and any Ford product would be considered . Thanks for the question..

Thanks for the kind words guys !! And TAZ , it is not my driving that worries me . Too many people use the phone while driving and run red lights . It took me six months of Internet time to find this one ! LOL , really would enjoy a nice Survivor that can be driven to replace this mint SS .

Very nice car. Love the colors and lack of stripes. Gives it a very upscale look for a classic musclecar. Best of luck with the sale.

Brings back some memories as I recall seeing several of these cars in the Tricentennial parade in Charleston. I was a 7 year old kid and had a Kodak instamatic camera and have some parade photos somewhere of those cars.

Documented 1970 Chevelle SS examples have been found in L-34,LS-5 & LS-6 form.
Can't say I've heard about any L-78's though,so they must have been ordered later on in production after that RPO was cancelled from the line up.

Wow! That is a hell of a car for $45k. Obviously, one could not build it for that money. Great colors, etc. and very well done restoration.

I hate to say that I would be all over it if it were a 4 speed.

Very nice car, best of luck.
