Mountain Green? Love the look and price isn't horrible if it's a real California car.

Good looking ride mostly not messed with. Still has smog! I think only CA cars had this in '66 - right?

Something weird with the license plate of the Chevelle, it's not an old plate as they didn't have those number and letters in that order...it would have been , for example, XYZ 123. It does have a Selman Chevrolet license plate frame....

Also, I know exactly where this picture was taken...as I lived really close to where the shot was taken...here's Google Earth proof <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/smile.gif

It's not an old plate California uses old black plate design for new issues.

That's what I said above...it's not an old plate <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/smile.gif

So if it's a one owner as he's claiming, then there is something fishy going on-as it would retain the original black and yellow plates in the XYZ 123 format... <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/beers.gif

----And, Sam,,, Smog was an option back then. Even in California its my understanding that you didn't have to order it until the calendar year of 1966. My 67 El Camino had to have it (and its still there but gutted) as it was ordered later in the year....Bill S

I would say he had that plate refinished for a look-a-like. The new issue black plates are smaller.

Would be much more interesting if it was a 350HP 396.

Or even better if 1 of the 3099 L-78's.

Are you saying the reissue black plates are physically smaller than the original black plates?!? <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/hmmm.gif

I should have nailed it down better for you, Mark. What ever the reason may be, you can tell a new black plate a mile away.

I called and left a message but never heard back. Also emailed and nothing yet.

I don't sell cars every day, but when I do sell cars I like to actually respond to people <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/smile.gif
