View Full Version : who makes gl-4 trans oil 80W90?
Went to 5 places today looking for a true GL-4 trans oil.
Found a GL-1 for pre 1953 Ford Tractors.
Some bottles say GL-4, GL-5, which is fine for rear axle, but not a brass ring sychro trans.
Don't want a synthetic. Just good old fashioned GL-4 suitable for a vintage trans.

Yea, I was going through my cabinet of oils, etc. and found an old Sta-Lube container, and remembered I got it at the NAPA warehouse.
I knew I had tracked some down for the muncie. This is for a New Process 542 5 speed from a dump truck. NAPA store here in Guthrie is closed on Sat.
And... turns out is is available even cheaper from Amazon.
Sta-Lube one gallon (https://www.amazon.com/Sta-Lube-SL24239-GL-4-Multi-Purpose-Hypoid/dp/B000M8RYMC/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1483212855&sr=8-5&keywords=mt-90+75w90+gl-4+gear+oil)
