With the help of our folks we have officially secured a date for this year's reunion . It is the same weekend as last year starting with the meet and greet Thursday, July 27, 2017 with racing Friday, July 28 and show Saturday, July 29 2017. We have secured the racetrack, Corvette Museum, and host hotel which all will be the same as in previous years . I will have more information regarding the hotel next week but at this point in time the date is secured and I am very sure the price will be the same as last year's nightly rate. With the help of our title sponsor Mascar Restorations .... all of this is made possible with the hard work and dedication of everyone involved so please come out and enjoy yourself for a great weekend of cars and friendships .

Hi Guys....I have been back and worth with the host hotel yesterday and today ...due to myself getting 3 complaints about bookings ....There is a problem with there system that they are working to resolve as quickly as possible. The rate for ANY of the days is $115 plus tax .... they were having problems on Thursday bookings but I am assured that they were getting them fixed relatively quick . Am I still invited? I'm spending several thousand $ on this thing getting it ready. New pistons, rods, cam, lifters, valve springs. new M23 transmission, McLeod RXT clutch, new US Gear 4.86 gears and spool. This will be the first time I've made a 1/4 mile pass.

Guys and Gals, I saw this on Facebook and I just got off the phone with Shawn Green of Camaro Central.. he has a young man working for him in the shipping department at his business by the name of Jacob Carr. The young man just moved into his new apartment one week ago and he is from Arkansas working in Kentucky with no family there. His entire apartment building caught fire at 4 AM in the morning a few days ago and he lost everything... on behalf of the Super Car Reunion and others we are donating some money to help this young man get back on his feet ... if you know anyone that has had a similar situation with a fire and lost everything you know the trials and tribulations of trying to start over with nothing ... please consider giving this young man a donation to help him get back on his feet.... no matter what the amount is anything can help this young man . It's merely the fact of kindness helping someone in need . They do have a go fund me account set up in his name Jacob Carr ... I understand organizations such as this do keep a small percentage in order to promote the cause and I understand that ... so if you could find it in your heart please do so ... it will help immensely. The Super Bee, Super Bird and blown '66 Nova are going to try to be there. I talked to all of them and they said they would try to make it. I'm starting to wonder if I'll make it. Looks like it's going to be about 6 weeks before I get my pistons, and then several more weeks for balancing and other machine work. Then to the dyno and who knows what else. Hopefully I'll get it together early enough to work the bugs out of it and be ready by July.

I'd like for the organizers to give me their opinion on something before I open my mouth and get in trouble. I know that this is a private event, but I can't help telling friends about it. I need to know how open this event is to spectators and publications. Last year I found out about this event by accident because Beech Bend put it on their schedule.

The week before SCR 20 the Car Craft Summer Nationals will be at Beech Bend. I plan to have my Camaro at that event too. I didn't know if you guys would be interested in having a writer from Car Craft stay another week and do a story on the SCR or if you want to keep it somewhat of a secret. Also, where do you stand on having spectators at the event, and who is allowed to bring a car and take part in this?

The event is free to all spectators on Friday at the race track as well as the car show on Saturday. Our official writer/photographer is Bob McClurg a well known and seasoned veteran for many publications . Any one with a cool old hot rod is welcome ...we do not prefer new all out race cars. People normally begin to arrive Thursday mid to late afternoon. There is a green area to the left of the hotel if you are facing the front. This is where we park trucks and trailers, then congregate. I'm not sure what time Jason will start the Barbeque but this is a time you won't want to miss. Great time of fellowship, making new friends and just spending time with people you don't get to spend enough time with. This is one of my favorite parts of the whole weekend. What this Reunion is all about!

It's all back together and ready for it's first road trip tomorrow morning. Going to Bowling Green for the Car Craft Summer Nationals, so this will be a pretty good test for it. They are allowing participants to make passes down the strip, so I might try it out a few times. It's got the street gears in it and I'll have to be sure that I don't break it because I'm driving it there and back home again.
