The car had a Gardner Deep Tone factory style system on it when we owned it...I would assume it still has it, given the limited use of the car. In fact

Karen and I watched it on the live stream in my office. They never mentioned the fact that the SCW did the resto and that Wayne Bushey was one of the owners and he supplied a ton of NOS parts. The quality of the restoration done by Brian and the attention to detail Stan executed during the resto was amazing. The car won best of show at the Nova Nats, big winner at Vette Fest and lots of other awards. No Chinese parts on that ride...all NOS or restored GM <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/biggthumpup.gif

You couldn't come close to building that car for $67k today...but the hobby has changed <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/scholar.gif

A resto-mod pickup brings a $150k and this car stalls at $67,000 <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/dunno.gif

Lots more people with more money than sense. Resto mods are in at the moment.
Your Nova showed very well.

These beautifully built 40 Ford Coupes, a lot of them totally hand built to perfection. Seems like you cant give them away now

I figured there must have been some problems with that car. Tough to know the little details when you are watching on the tube.

Does Toms l78 nova have the original driveline and paperwork?

WILMASBOYL78
01-22-2017, 03:22 PM
Hi Johnny... <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/biggthumpup.gif

Born with driveline...no mystery. Also, MSO with engine info showing Lustine Chevrolet as the original dealer. There was a 6 issue pictorial on the SCW restoration in Nova Times back in the day. No corners cut, no expense spared, a ton of NOS parts. At the time, this was one of the best in the country. There have been lots of other Nova restorations since then, but this car is still in the top tier of what's out there.

You need to buy my 68 L78 car...perfect project for you <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/wink.gif

A bath was taken last night with plenty of Lava soap..Gas Monkey walked away from $330K in a reserve high bid for the 1967 Package deal for the Firebirds #1 and #2 at Vegas only to wait and sell last night for $255K.

That's just epic.

Prices looked soft to me on numerous pedigree cars including the red 32K mile survivor L78 Nova that sold today. Take that and the 340 Scat Pak Challenger that also went cheap and it tells you the buyers just weren't there like they used to be. If I was a seller, I wouldn't be rolling anything across an unreserved block where Saturday PM holds the only promise of it getting a shot at the money.

I'd be headed over to Russo & Steele instead.

The one sale that got absolutely insane money was the Bitchin' Rides VW bus. $275k for a bus that was almost made up?

LOL......A couple of years ago we flew out on Wednesday.......I was watching the telecast on Tuesday and a 62 Biscayne 409 car (Painted wheels, dog dish caps) 4 speed car was Auctioned off for 12K.......I couldn't believe it.........Sheesh.......If I was there it wouldn't have gotten past me..........LOL......The next day we get there and I was obsessed with that car........scoured the grounds till I found it..........LOL......after seeing it in person, the buyer paid twice what the car was worth......what a pile...........But....It looked like a Jewel on TV...........

BTW, I'm pretty sure the Stan Falenski Nova once had the rear seats removed so the owner could haul their pony somewhere... Correct me if I'm wrong on that one!!

That Nova is simply awesome, everything about it - especially the color. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/biggthumpup.gif
