Ive got a factory set of l78 leafs with a 6 th helper spring. They are tired and sagging. Any one you guys can suggest to re - arch and rebuild them back to factory specs?
Any clue if the re-arching process effect the temper in the steel and do they last?
Thanks Rich

Had a set on a 72' RS/SS Camaro -- they were re-arched at Wichita Springs up in Wichita Falls, Tx ... came out perfect! TAZ
I have had leaf springs re-arched in a foundry here in British Columbia.Leafs held up very well after processing. They are tempered after the re-arching. I am sure you can find a company close by that still does this. Frank

re-arching to is the way to go IMO. However - when I had them re-arched to factory specs, the car sat VERY high. Never had them strain relieved & held up fine. May sit a little high until they normalize. Put some weight in the trunk while car is in storage & it should settle down.

This has been one of my concern's, trusting a shop to arch them to the correct specs and re-tempering.
I wonder if eaton will do them, sure would be nice to send them to someone you can trust.

I had my factory monos re-arched at a truck spring (Wall NJ) place back around 2010. They had the factory specs, but I wanted the car a bit higher. So I had them set them at 1.5" over stock. They came out great (not cosmetically though :)). Pretty sure they did some press work plus a little heating.
Still on those same springs today, they might have settled around 1/8" to 1/4" in all this time.

I bought aftermarket eaton spring set, and utilized just the primary leaf, along with the original other leaves. The height is right, and it retained the "dimples" on the other leaves, so it looks all original.

I have had four sets re-arched with good success. Send them to Spring Service in Charlotte NC and tell them whether you want them left natural or painted black. NPD here in Charlotte has the correct straps for the springs. What I have done is take the correct straps to Spring Service tell them what I want done and they do a good job. Send me a PM and I would be happy to help coordinate here in Charlotte.
