I think Classic Industries sell the emblems you need.
Yes,I bought mine from them and ended up selling them for half off their original purchased price on here 3 years ago.

Thanks, Charley. i decided to make my car a yenko tribute after i watched the muscle car of the week video you were interviewed in. making it the same color as well. the videp clip also led me to join this website!
its been being restored since last february...hope to have it back by the end of the summer. i will post pics !

I'm always curious why people want clones and don't build something nice without badging it and calling it something it's not? Serious question.

Because they either cant find what they want or do not have the funds to afford a real car... Serious answer.

<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/rolleyes.gif I know that part of the answer... I'm talking about the rest of it. There's a lot of things I can't find or don't have the funds to afford. I don't mean to diminish anybody's car because I know most have worked very hard on them or put out a lot of cash for. If I wasn't lucky enough to have an X66, I just don't think I'd get a warm and fuzzy knowing that what I'm driving isn't what I'm advertising it to be. I'd build something similar if that's what I wanted, but I wouldn't badge it as something it's not. I guess I just liken it to guys running around with uniforms that didn't earn them. Be proud of who you are and what you have and don't try to be something you're not. As with everything, that's JMO and I was curious what others thought that are doing it. I'm not trying to cast stones.

Only issue I have with people that have clones, fakes or whatever is if they advertise them as real.. If you have a fake then call it what it is.. You also have this scenario; for instance; wearing your favorite sports team jersey or apparel.. They probably didnt play for the team but they are fans of it.. Several different ways to look at things.. Its not always one sided..
However you wanna look at it people are gonna do what they want as they are the current owner of the car.. It is up to the next guy to decide what is real and whats not..
Im also not trying to argue or be difficult just trying to give other possibilities or scenarios as to why people may do what they do..

No worries. That's why I asked. To see the different opinions.

I love the yenkos especially 68's since I get to be in such close proximity to one or sometimes more. BUT I know I will never be able to own one of my own. I have a recipe in my head for when I do get my hands on a 68. I would like to basically do a resto mod version of a 68 yenko. For me I am fine with clones and tributes AS LONG AS YOU ADVERTISE IT CORRECTLY. There are tooooo many people who slap a badge on a car and then tell people yeah its a yenko or yeah its a real Z28 when most of the guys here could spot a fake 3 miles away. Those are the guys who get called out on their b.s. Clone it and drive it just don't lie about what it is.

X2 ^^^^ I am building a clone Yenko Deuce (to replace the one I owned in the 70s). Besides, if I were to pop $70K+ for a real one, my next stop would be divorce court ... and after being 40+ years, I don't want to breakin another one. Besides, most buyers of these types of vehicles should know better to check the history of said vehicles. ... TAZ <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/beers.gif

first off....it is a tribute car...not a clone. you may think thats just semantics, but i think there is a difference.
my reasoning is not to pretend i have a genuine yenko car.....i dont have and extra $350K kicking around to buy one. i also dont have the opportunity to buy one of the approximately 33 genuine yenkos that are still in existence.
my reasoning is not to resell my car under the guise that its something its not. im not going to be selling it ever.
my reasoning is more that its a tribute to Don Yenko and his vision of what the car could be. much like the analogy of the sports team jerseys.... im a hockey player and a bruins fan. i own a Bobby Orr jersey but that doesnt mean i am pretending to be Bobby Orr.
i like the look of the Yenko, the performance of the Yenko. simple.
there are two new production cars in 2017--- the corvette and the camaro that are yenko models. technically Don Yenko had zero to do with those. those cars are to carry on the legacy of a visionary of the past. would you consider those cars something they are not????
i hope that helps you understand.

Having had the chance to move the corvette around I can say that it embodies the spirit of YENKO .. It is all around ferocious .. I understand the want and need for clones and tributes. Most people wouldn't take a real yenko out and thrash the hell out of it. With a clone there is no worry ...

I hear you guys on the loving Yenkos. I do too. I just wouldn't put Yenko badges on something I built. Maybe the stripes and other things I could see to carry on the essence of a Yenko, but not the Yenko badges. Different strokes for different folks and that's fine. I was just curious on the thought process. As far as new "Yenkos", yes, I think those cars are something created for nothing more than marketing and to make Lynn some money. If Don had something to do with it, that would be something all together different. Time for some new original ideas.
The wearing team jerseys analogy doesn't work IMO. You aren't wearing helmets, pads etc to make you look like you're the real deal. I have plenty of Pats, Bruins and Sox fan clothes too. Nobody is mistaking me for anything other than a fan.
The only reason why I asked this in your thread was because it looked like you had already gotten an answer to your original question. If that was wrong, sorry about that.

You missed the point of my comment Dave...
The point was people do it because they enjoy something or support it. Not to deceive.. like Craig said.. If you are in the market for a car like this you know who to get in contact with or what to check to verify the car. Like with anything that there are reproductions of you need to do your homework before a purchase..

Lynn isn't making any money as she has nothing to do with it and does not own the Yenko trademark.

I wasn't aware of that Charley. I thought I saw something a couple of years ago where she was suing for the rights or something. Obviously I was mistaken. Thanks for the correction.

I could be wrong but I do not think Lynn gets a single penny from the new tribute cars as to the best of my knowledge the Yenko name was sold many years ago and along with it the rights. Someone please correct me if I am wrong. As far as my opinion on clones and tributes, everyone already knows what my opinion is on that.

Not sure how you can call them tributes when the company owns the Yenko name and has named them Yenko's. You might not like it but they are doing it legally.

everyone has an opinion and there isn't any one more right than the next. its healthy and informative beacuse we are able to learn and understand each other's point of views here in these these forums. this allows us to get and give info that we might not have had prior to asking questions. we have Charley to thank for that by creating this little corner of cyber space.
again---for me my tribute car is a reverent tip of the hat to the automotive past. when these cars are gone, so is a little bit more of automotive history. my motivation has absolutely nothing to do with falsehoods & automotive trickery.
the Chevy Performance 427 crate engine will be ordered within the next 2 weeks !!!!!!
it's gonna be a bad ass ride...

Legally, yes from what I now understand, but let's say for the sake of argument that someone owned the name Renoir or Monet and painted a few portraits today and called them their names. Would they be a Renoir or Monet or something else? Don Yenko was the artist IMO and everything created after is a knock off of his work to make a buck. Corporate reference, not necessarily private owners and builders. I'm not knocking the cars, they're beautiful. I just dont care for them badging them with the Yenko name.
