Could anyone please post some pics of standard coil brackets from the late
'60's and early '70's. I'd like to see the differences between the regular
ones and the ones found on a car with ZL2 hoods or a 1970 Chevelle cowl hood.
I'm trying to determine what I have here...these are some photos of what I have...

Thanks in advance,
Sal

For the '69 Camaro, the 270 coil assembly was only used on Z/28 & L48 SS350 built with the ZL2 special ducted hood. Needed to clear the air cleaner. It used the same bracket from the '66-'67 275/327, maybe earlier. Big blocks did not need or use it. There is not much difference; slightly greater angle from vertical. Can't tell which one you have.

Do not know how ZL2 '70-'72 Chevelles were built.

Sal, they are not correct brackets for the ZL2 setup. The best clue for ZL2 brackets is if they cannot sit flat (yours do sit flat).

Here are mine, you can see how the bottom edge is below the mounting level.

Thanks! First time I have seen this foolproof method to ID & distinguish the 2.
