Hello folks,

I.m hunting for one or two good YH rally wheels dated in the first four months of 69. The closer to April the better but would settle for anything decent that I could use as my spare, and to replace my January dated rim. Let me know what you have and PM or email me with anything available?

Thanks

What's wrong with the Jan wheel?

I have 2 Jan wheels, 1 February wheel and 1 May wheel. I'm hoping to find a later wheel and move one of the January to the trunk as a spare since I'm short one wheel at present. If I can find 2 later wheels I'd be jell-in as i'm trying to date the wheels closer to my 05A build date.

1 or 2 later wheels would really help things along. :)

NorCam, my 05A car has all April YH's. I believe they are 2 4-19's and 3 4-21's.

Yes, and April wheels are very scarce to find now days. I am constantly hunting for them and will eventually find enough them for this car I hope?

For now I'll just nibble away at them and try closing up the dates until I have the right dates all around.

If anyone reading this has a complete set of April 18 / 19 / 21 dated wheels (K-1-9-XX), I would be glad to buy the entire set at market rates and/or provide a trade for them if that works?. I guess what I am saying is that I will beg, borrow and steal to get the right dates for this car, either 1 wheel at a time, or in pairs or a complete set. (lol)

Come on, sell that spare set of wheels you have squirreled away in the garage???

I know you got em. :)

I just checked my wheels and sanded them to see the dates better. Looks like I have 2 January 28 wheels and both in really good shape with no pitting. One is fully painted and the other in etching primer. The other 2 wheels are both May dates with one clearly being K-1-9-5-20 YH and the other is very hard to read the last date numbers but looks to possibly be K-1-9-5-20 YH as well. This last wheel has some pitting which is hidden by the beauty rings. All appear straight but I would get them trued before use. All the above dates are the large early slots (bigger openings than later wheels) and all have the factory weld on the beads.

I will gladly trade any of these wheels in pairs (Choice of January pair or Choice of May pair) for April Dates. Let me know what you have to trade for dates???

The last May wheel is near impossible to read the day code but there is a faint 2 where it could be a 20 date but they were so faint there are nearly gone? The May code is clear as mud and both May dates are very hard to come by as many know. Happy to trade those for April dates if anyone needs May.

Hello, your January YH wheels are 1/28's, look at the striking to the right of the 2, you can see the bottom of the 8. I have never herd of, or have never seen 1/2's. I believe May YH's were dated 19, 20, and 21st.

Good info Mike. I didn't realize those round paint marks to the right of the 2's were the lower portion of the faded 8's but that makes perfect sense now that you've pointed that out.

Thanks for that.

Wishing I had those April wheels Rich <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/smile.gif

Older thread but just wanted to chime in on the Jan 28th YH's. I just looked at an 04B Van Nuys Z/28 that had four of these YH's still on it and a random FW in the trunk. All 4 YH's looked just like your pair here, with 1 2_ and the faintest ghost of an 8. That's definitely how things were stamping at Kelsey Hayes that particular day.
