I would just upgrade the small block to LT-1 level...plain jane interior is perfect. You could go with a 12 bolt and TH400 or beef up the TH350...keep the column shift. Wouldn't take much to make a real sleeper out of this.
This is the kind of cars I tell guys to buy if they can...solid body/interior...decent paint...just tweek the drivetrain and have fun.

**just noticed this car has multi-leaf springs...it may have a 12 bolt?? that would be a huge plus!

I wouldn't change a thing on that car; I'd just drive the heck out of it.

Tom do you know if multileafs were an option for a 10 bolt rear or did you have to have a 12 bolt to get them? Maybe a pasted owner swapped them in? I know in 1972 you got multileafs regardless of SS or base model.

You could get multi's on a 10 bolt...
