Have a thread going for my El Camino that I use to tow.

Here: http://www.yenko.net/forum/showthread.php?p=1352619#post1352619

I picked up a good 3.31 12 bolt. Before swapping it in, I wanted to install 11 inch drums on the rear. Bought some 11 inch backing plates on ebay that were advertised to work with any "C" clip 12 bolt. Not so much.

Pics attached.

Can anyone tell me what model 12 bolts used 11 inch rear drums? I am guessing all the 60's V8 full size cars got 12 bolts, and all wagons, everything with a big block or HD brakes got 11 inch rear brakes.

Any guidance on what will bolt on? Please don't suggest rear discs. i really just want to go 11 inch drums if at all possible.

I have a full 11" set-up on a rear I'm going to scrap.

Mid 1970's Monte Carlos used an 11X2 rear drum set-up--that's what MPBrakes uses for their 11" conversion kits (with all new parts, no recycled components)

I have this system on the back of my Chevelle. With (manual) OE disc brakes up front, it hauls down my 4000+ lb. heap from 115+ mph @ the track with ease.

As it should - those were the standard brakes for your car.

Can anyone tell me if the 11 inch drums, backing plates, and other rear brake pieces from a 1964 Impala will fit a 68 Chevelle 12 bolt?

I believe so, as the 64 and 68 full size Chevy use the same part number for the rear drum. Just want to be sure the backing plates will bolt up.

Have a friend parting out a 4 door 64 and can get the parts pretty cheap.
