I was playing around with my Impala yesterday. Mounted some torq thrusts on it. I got the wheels for a very good price over the winter. Put a set of cheap white wall radials on it and away it goes...
I also found an NOS aftermarket K Mart 8 track player for it. I mounted it without drilling any new holes. Hooked it up and it played great.. Nothing like listening to Hotel California through the old speaker system!!
Also found a set of NOS date coded spiral Delco shocks for her and installed those.
The original owner of the car also stopped by to check it out. He got funny/salty after I purchased the car from him. He has come around though and loved seeing the car again. He admitted that he was happy it went to a good home. I still want to get pictures of us together with the car. This summer that will happen... I even told him he could take it out and drive it.
Funny, he told me that the Brooklyn Chevy dealer decal was originally on the top left side of the rear bumper. There were some light scratches in this area on the chrome and he told me those were from him removing the decal years ago when the car was new. Hence, I had to put a decal right back in the same spot plus it covered the scratches!! He also found the original hubcaps for the car and gave me same..
Enjoy the pics....
