Who has the best radiator for a BBC in a '69 Nova? I have 2 radiators, and neither of them fit....

I'm assuming Quanta has the best one??

Marlin, find a decent original, have it recored to at least a 3 row. Not a lot of clearance in there as you know. Did that on my BB and have never had an overheat problem

Assuming you don't have an original Harrison unit to work with, there are several choices;

US Radiator offers a quality product in several styles that work well for the BB Nova. You can choose either a 3 or 4 core unit or an aluminum 2 core...I have used them and they work well.

I believe Camaro Specialties sells a repro Harrison unit...looks original...big bucks.

There are a variety of other aftermarket units out there...take your pick/perhaps others can comment on quality.

For the money, the US Radiator product is the best value.

Thanks Tom.

I checked out the US Radiator site, they do have nice stuff - and apparently are the supplier to Quanta! I will go with that one, I don't have time to monkey around.

Anyone ever use the repro 5 blade fan? I don't want to spend the money if it's junk, I can just put a flex fan on it for now but I gotta get the 1" fan spacer.... Earl's got one on EBaY!! :naughty:

M....I think you will be happy with the US Radiator unit...I have a 4 core version in our 68 BB and it works fine. Also had a 4 core in the 70 TH400 car we sold...you can't use an old style flex fan with the 4 core...but the newer style will work. There is a 6 blade steel fan available, I think Wayne Bushey has them...I have it on the 68 car...it works good.

As for the repro 5 blade...I have no first hand knowledge...I know folks have bought them...maybe someone will chime in.

I have a [no name] 4 core BB radiator available if you need one...it's not new, but should work ok.

I purchased a repro 5 blade recently... works fine... no spacer. It's a tight fit with a 4 core (re-cored) original Camaro BB rad !! also close on the rear side to the alternator pulley.

I do not have an original for comparison but this piece looks pretty good.

US Radiator arrived late last week, looks good and was 'on sale' at Ground Up!

Repro fan arrived yesterday, will trial fit tonight - sure looks nice, even has the 'W' stamped on it. Wonder how close they are to the originals?

How much value if any will an original radiator add to a car ? How close would the radiator date be verses the build date of the car

IDK, won't matter on this car anyway - I'm more concerned about how balanced the repro fan will be! This is a Day 2 build for my son, so the probability is kinda high that something will go through that grill and I don't want a lot of expensive parts ruined. Just being realistic....

Radiator and fan seemed to fit pretty good, the run test will ultimately prove!

I do like the quality and weight of the fan, def a serious piece...

That is purrrty. Where did you get that? Is the a parts place inc. fan?

Yes, it shipped from The Parts Place although I ordered it from Ground Up Resto in CT. I also ordered the attaching bolt kit as well (they are fine thread, certain length bolts) , all fit fine.
