Congrats to the Pens and thank goodness the long hockey season is over.

Pens set the record last night for the most games played in consecutive seasons. Bonino finished out a game with a broken tibia (then tried to skate in pregame a few nights later) and Cole had broken ribs and a broken hand since Washington.
Third hat to retire for me. Can't wait to meet the cup again at center ice.

Definitely ranks up there with Mario. Already has one more cup than Le Magnifique and quite likely more to come.

They are formidable, but I sure was impressed with the effort Nashville put in throughout the playoffs. Was fun to watch....but now WTH am I supposed to do for the next 90 days? :)
Actually, this is my off season for working on cars, because there is no Hockey until mid September

Sid's awesome - had he been healthy, the Hawks and Kings might have fewer Cups today. Though math-wise, Mario is maybe the last "superstar" the NHL has seen. The game was higher scoring in Mario's day, but check-out how far he was ahead of the next guy in points during his peak years. The only player w/a bigger gap over the pack was Wayne, in his day, when he was right around 70 pts. ahead of the 2nd leading scorer - and for several seasons in succession. "Handicap" Orr, as a d-man, and those three are in their own zip codes in terms of mathematical dominance.
Separately, don't see how Malkin didn't find a spot on the NHL's recent "Top 100" list ...

It's not hard to rank Orr as number 1 of all time. One of his unbelievable stats were plus-minus in four individual seasons of +124,+86,+84 and +80!

Congrats to all the Pittsburgh fans, but he is the one guy in hockey that I hate. Always crying about getting hit, and the first guy to cheap shot somebody. He slashed that guy from the Predators, I think it was Methot, took part of his finger off. They didn't even call a penalty, and the league didn't even review it. They actually sell a tshirt with his number 87 on the back, and where the name goes, it says CRY BABY.
I REST MY CASE.

Think +124 is single season record?

It was Mark Methot from the Ottawa Senators. It was a typical slash that you see dozens of times in a game. The owner of the Sens complained in the local papers and most of the Ottawa players were embarrassed at his whinning!Wayne Gretsky was a notorious complainer on the ice but like Sid all that really matters are the rings and their place in the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Orr +124 in 1970.He was 22.

I would welcome Wayne Simmonds, Alex Ovechkin, Malkin, or pretty much any other top ranked player to the Rangers. If we acquired Crosby, I would burn all my Jerseys and memorabilia on my front lawn, and follow soccer!

I doubt it. No worries though, he's not going anywhere... and likely still has a few more cups to win in Pittsburgh.

I see you haven't been following hockey for the last 4 or 5 years. It's been pretty good.

Believe me, I have. It's not Pittsburgh, it's HIM! I would take Hagelin back in a second. Malkin, Cullen, chubby Kessel, I like them all. ITS HIM!!!!
