The Black/Saddle Bench 1970 Chevelle LS-6 brought a much better dollar then I assumed it would.

That didn't have born with driveline, right? Looked like a nice car.

I thought someone on stage said the car had the original drivertrain....?????

Says #'s matching and Certified by JM but then it says "It's powered by a 454ci V8 engine and 4-speed manual transmission"

I was not impressed with the quality of the cars overall. I'm very close, but after seeing the dockets passed on attending. The no reserve has people shying away with good cars. JMO....

From the stage it was stated that most ls6s had been blown up and that this one had 100% original drivetrain. I just double checked with a friend who heard the same thing. Many people looking at the car before the auction were saying it wasnt. Which is it?

That LS6 description sounded vaguely described to me? One line says numbers matching engine and then the next few lines say it includes born with original parts like the peripherals.

To me that sounds like the bolts on are original and the engine is a transplant. I'm sure the MacNeish report states that, but would bet that the cover cert is the only doc that was represented with the car at sale?

Best to watch the rerun of it and listen for yourself.

I didn't watch all the coverage, but for the portions that I did see, it seemed to me like, with a few rare exceptions, the cars were going pretty cheap. But I know from experience that many times the cars look much better on TV than they do in person.

That's been the general consensus that many cars were borderline junk.

We may have reached the saturation point in auctions where all the good cars get sprinkled in among the rest of the junk. Too many clones and tribute cars out there now.

Seems like a pretty good deal, even if for the conversation it would generate at cruise nights and shows.

Nova is in my garage now. Thought I was going to own it at 12k for a while. People were sleeping it was a great buy the car is very nice! Wish I would have bought the Black LS6 now too but was a little gun shy for some reason. A lot of junk but there were a few good cars and deals to be had if you were paying attention

I think the no reserve keeps the good cars away. Lots of great cars out there for less than $150k but the owners don't want to risk giving them away like the owner of your car did. Short hammer or line at the bar and your car goes for pennies on the dollar.

It stopped me from bringing 4 cars and I'm just over an hour away.
