Having a discussion with a forum mate and the question came up concerning tires.

These are Coker Tires new Firestone Wide Oval reproductions. They look just like the bias ply tires used by the OEMs except they are radials: FR70x14.

Would you lose points on your car if you had a set of these on them - assume the car originally came with either Firestone RWL or Red Line in F70x14 size from the factory.

Lee,
If your question applies to Vintage Certification, No reproduction tire will gain you any points in judging. The tires on survivors need to be correctly dated originals to score points in this class.
I can't speak for other shows, but I also doubt they would be accepted in restored concours judging at MCACN either.
I'm sure Steve will chime in here and clarify any other questions you may have.

Lee, as Chris stated previously we only award point for tires that are assemblyline correct (not reproduction)and properly dated.

I can't think of a concours-restored judging program that would allow any tire that was not correct/available for the model and year the car was built. Reproduction is acceptable since they are virtually the only available source.

The new release correctly lettered radial tires certainly beat TA radials I presently have on my drivers. I will be upgrading shortly.
