Picked this car up a couple months ago. It came out of an estate sale in southern California. It has the -- paint code it looks like it is a darker yellow A friend said they call it competition orange another friend said he thinks it is dark yellow. Any ideas has anyone ever seen this color on a 68 Camaro. Could be the only 68 z this color. Very solid California car. The car has had 1 repaint and you can see the original color in the jambs ect. Thanks for looking.

Just out of curiosity have you conducted the NCRS Historical services report on the car.

Yes the car was sold new at Hansen Chevrolet LA California. The color looks the same as yellow road signs. Its just crazy. But I think cool as hell.

What about those mustardy yellows that were appearing in exotics around that time, and later mimicked by Mopar (EL1 Bahama Yellow), Ford (Yellow Gold), and prob a few others?

I think Jon looked at it a few months ago and thought it looked like 519 (bottom of the paint samples).

Neat NEAT car! I would try to preserve the original paint in the jambs if you repaint the car.

Here's the Dana Z. You can see the Omaha orange (lighter color) underneath the repaint. Looks more orange to me...

Very cool color for sure on a Z/28, the 519 code in book says Dark Yellow, but I thought it was referred or called Competition Orange on cars and Road Commission Orange on trucks...I think the Omaha Orange was code 516 the darker orange?

I may be able to save the jambs. Its a very straight car and very solid.
