I have ben looking for a survivor 69 Z for a while. This one can be bought for 40k. It's looking a little tired but is it worth that? I'm asking you guys because my knowledge on these are limited.

I kinda disagree with the others. Orig. engine Z28 with a build sheet is not a bad start. 35K ? Throw 10K at it and you have a cool car. Black plate car . Great potential.

But a misuse of the term survivor....
And what's up with the axle? Letter says it is BL0926G, but TC post shows BU0110G1. Huh??

I guess i was looking at how correct u would want it? If it was me i would have to find the orig throttle rod, alt, dist smog, etc u know all the little things that add up,and if u pay 40k and have to buy all that stuff , do a paint job etc i think u will easily surpass 65k mark and u could buy a more correct one ready to go!!!!!!!

I am more concerned with orig. drivetrain, paperwork, sheetmetal. The little add on stuff can be found over time. You might find a restored one for more money but you also don't know what it looked like before resto. What is hidden or restamped etc. A Ca. car with it's orig. black plate probably has a pretty good body compared to something that might have come from back east with rockers, 1/4's etc replaced.

Perfect Day2 car. Value price for a car that'll get used.

I agree with you guys. The more I look, that car needs a lot of work. We all have been there, and the hidden stuff is what gets you. I can get a much better car for a little more cash. He sent me a pdf file of the documentation. No name that I know did the inspection. Quite a list of scary things such as the rear end. I would post the pdf if I knew how?

Can't make out the name on the inspection sheet. Let me see if I can post it here.

I agree that the black plate says something about the potential rust-free state of the car's bones, but you need to make sure that it has both front and rear plates, they are original to the car, and that the seller hasn't simply put a single black plate on to sex-up the look of the car for the ad.
