Hello all, I'm in the finishing stages of a 68 Chevelle build and need a picture of the throttle cable attachment on the carb end of a Holley equipped big block. The car was originally a small block, now has a big block transplanted in it. Need a pic to determine where the cable hooks to the carb. If anyone could post a pic that would be great. Thanks

My main question here is, did Chevy/GM use the large hole on the throttle shaft lever on cable operated applications? I guess I don't a pic for that. Thanks.

This is from a 1969 396/350 HP Chevelle SS - does this help?

Thanks for the reply. it does help some, I'm using a Holley 3310. The pic gives me a pretty good visual clue to the height of the attachment point though. I want to use an L88 dropped air cleaner base and as I understand there is some issues to work around using a non OEM holley carb. Typical hot rodding trial and error. Anyone have a pic using a Holley. Thanks.

Original bracket Original main body but not certain about the rest ie. missing the vented bowl. Also tall style intake... pancake is in basement.

Huh, not in the top hole interesting. Are the bowl vents cut at an angle? Thanks

I think you'll find that there is only one place on the carb where the cable fit naturally. I'm not certain that the Q-jet cable above is correct (it may be, but it looks "off" to me). See how the cable end is tweaked "up" instead of aiming straight ahead?

It operates better when the cable ball stud is inline with the bracket, as shown on the Holley pic.

Hey all. I thought I would post an update to this thread. I ended up getting a Lokar universal throttle cable to complete this phase of my build. I got the one with the black plastic outer covering and adapted it to the stock style Holley carb bracket. As I am running a TH350 I adapted the bracket to accept the TH 350 kickdown cable. The Lokar setup is quite nice, much better than the stock replacement type I got from a well know restoration outfit. That cable was a genuine POC. All is well now and on to the next phase, getting the air cleaner sorted out. Thanks to all who helped out.
