I saw a car posted for sale in the classified section. I wanted to post a reply, but I apparently can't since I am not a paid member. Anyway, I was the second owner of this car.

Hi Steve,
Welcome aboard.
Yes please tell us a little about the cars history. I am representing the car for Richard and can pass the info over to the Classified section for you.

Actually, I have been a forum member for about 15 years. For the last couple of years I would only check in once or twice a year. I tried to log in one day and couldn't, so after several unsuccessful attempts, I was able to register under a new user name.

I bought the car in 1971 from the original owner. I sold it in 1974. I know of at least 7 owners, including the current owner. There were probably more.

The car originally came with a 3.31 gear. I decided to install a 4.56, but went the budget route and used a ring gear spacer to allow the install into a 3 series posi unit. The ring gear spacer in combination with slicks didn't fare too well and it sheered the ring gear bolts. When I went to repair the diff, it appeared that the carrier bearings might have spun in the housing so I just went to the local Chevrolet dealer and bought a new housing as well as a Moroso 4 series posi unit. I have no recollection what I did with the original 12 bolt, might have sold it or disposed of it.

It had the original M22 in it when I sold it.

Sorry Steve, I did not know you were here for a while. Thought you were new when I viewed you only had 3 posts.
Great Info about the rear end. Any old photos you can share of the car from the past?
