Since I have a fetish with wheels and tires thought I would share some of the collection. I need one of those tire racks from the old gas stations. My Wife just rolls her eyes and shakes her head. LOL.

Two of them are Penneys "Foremost El Tigre" Tires. Can't remember the other two. Bought the wheels back in January for the Chevelle, realized that 15x6s wouldn't work on the back tires, and decided I was too nostalgic for the Rallys (Since they've been on it since my grandfather bought it, it's always had them) and now they just sit in the garage.

Those Pennys Slicks are hard to find.. I got lucky last year at this time, a guy about 45 minutes away from me was selling these they are in excellent shape nearly NOS.
That Chevelle looks great!! That is interesting on the sidewall it says "JC Penny". I wonder what year the "JC" was adopted and the "Pennys" was dropped..

I picked these up this week, they were on a 66 Vette drag car. Anyone know anything about these wheels? Attached is a pic of the tires and wheels on the Vette. The car is currently getting ready to be street driven, the now owner installed a SB tunnel ram, got the hood scoop painted to match by a local shop near me, they did an amazing job blending and matching that green metal flake and endless stripes paint scheme. This car will be for sale soon. I will resize the pics of the car and attach.

No camera trick... that's the rough paint. There's pockmarks in the old lacquer paint, giving it a metallic look from a distance.
Ok what are your tire sizes?
Fronts are 15x4" rims on vintage Cooper E78-15, and rears are 15x8" rims on 28x10.5-15 Mickey Thompson's.

That's what I was hoping to hear...or rather, not hear. I was thinking of adding a set to my green car but with a rubber bumper that's definitely out of the question. Thanks

Found this pair of Cragar G/T mags along with a pair of S/S mags. The S/S are apparently 14x8” and the G/T are supposed to be 14x9”. I wish they weren’t unilug, and I’m hoping they’ll clean up enough to look good (not too good) for my similarly weathered Monaco Orange SS.
How common are the G/T’s?

I have those same Firestone fronts for a set of drag wheels I'm setting up for my 69. Tony hooked me up with the Firestone Drag 500 rears w/ tubes a couple months ago. I'm still needing to pickup a good set of 7" wheels to mount these on but trust they'll look great for static display and shows. I like the Drag 500's as that was Kym's go to tire when the car raced SS/LA throughout the 70's. Although the rears were bigger back then.

Put these on my 68 the other day. Sure am liking the look, but they rub on the quarter wheel openings every bump. They’re only 14x7” with 215 60R14 rubber. Grrrr!
Very nice!
Is it the wheel off set causing the rub?
What is the clearance like to the leaf spring and inner tub and frame?

Now that you mention it, I believe it was the offset. I've since taken them off, and replaced them with an original set of rallys with redlines so that I can drive the car without issues. I should measure the backspace, and put them back on to note the clearance at the back for future reference. Good point. Thanks

Thanks for the offer Tim,
I do have a pair of T/T here but they have holes for the valve stems drilled towards the center of the rim, and the tubes for the slicks have the valve stem offset toward the outer edge of the rim. I'm either going to use a set of black steelies or perhaps drill new holes in the T/T rims and mount these up.
I'll get to those one of these days...:bs:

Totally stoked to have just found another set of mint original Mickey Thompson Indy SS H50/15 tires today. Now I have to arrange picking them up in NE Iowa as seller will hold for me but won't ship. These will go onto my TT wheels for the 68 and I have some Firestone pie crust skinnies for the front.

Finally picked up my NOS Mickey Thompsons from North Dakota this week. These are H50/15's and they still have the nubs on them. Now question is, anyone ever stick a set of these under a 70 Nova. I know they're wide but mounted on 8.5" wheels I'm wondering how far outside the lip they'd be with 4.25 BS? If they stick out too far I'll save them for my kids 70 Camaro we have planned.

I FINALLY got time to have my vintage M&H Racemaster tires mounted to 15x8 Cragar wheels. These will be specifically for special car shows only.
Unfortunately, it’s VERY difficult to find straight lug wheels that are 15x8 with 4.25” backspace. So until I do find a set, I’ll have to use these unilug wheels. I do like these better than the new flat spoke Cragar wheels. Just my opinion.
On a side note, I cut the screws shorter so they wouldn’t damage the tires.

Those look awesome Kurt. Of course I'm a big fan of M&H rubber if one can find a set. I mounted my Firestone 500's on a set of 8" Cragar's for the same purpose as you and love the look of them. I have Unilug rears as well but I don't think anyone really cares about the pattern...especially me. Didn't screw these rims but I'm alright with that as they're for show only.
Great look on rims and tires!

This Found me in May down in Soddy Daisy Tenn. 1 owner who ordered it to go drag racing since day one. It has all the cool late 60's and early 70's aftermarket racing parts. This is in the Basement of the late owner Milburn Varner. He was drag racing since 1959. He had a 63 Max Wedge Plymouth. A 64 Max Wedge Plymouth. A 1966 Hemi Belvedere II 4 speed. Hemi's were expensive back then also. Milburn was their transmission and rear end mechanic for Austin Motors C/P in Chattanooga Tenn. Still in Business today. He had a partner his brother in-law David Rehrig. Alas the Drag Addicts. The same paint scheme for all their cars. So in 1970 They decided to try the new Ebody Cuda. Lets try the New 440 Six Pack instead of a Hemi a lot cheaper to maintain. So they wanted a flashy car to attract attention thus FC7 Plum Crazy. Radio Delete. Auto on the column. The amighty N96 Shaker hood to get all that fresh air. He did not like the floor shift too much weight and hassle. So he put in a B&M Shifter new back then it is the old chrome box. He had a 4:88 Dana rear already so he did not order a good gear. It came with a 8 3/4 no posi 3.23 open. Front disc brakes. He had it lettered up even before he brought it home from the dealership . He bought it home and installed the Dana 60 with 4:88 gears. The 440 6 pack did not last two weekends and 7 miles on the odometer. They still had two Hemi Motors. Well you guessed it getting a Hemi. So it was two weeks old they stuffed a 1966 built Hemi with a Racer Brown Roller 750 Left cam. 12:5 to 1 30 over Block. A new Edelbrock Rat Roaster intake. Two new 1970 Hemi carbs bought new thru the dealer. Hustle Stuff Racing dist. w/ tach drive 1968 Super Stock Tach. Hooker full Hemi race headers with 17" collectors. Mopar Super Stock Springs. Wheels were American Racing Torque Thrust. 15x4 fronts. and 10" Rears at first Spun too hard. So it received 12 inch wide rims with 33x15 Firestone Drag 500's. They hooked. He did not cut the body nor tubbed it. He wanted to do the least body mods. He never even tied the frame rails. No Cage either. Interior is mint. This is the original paint that is now clean. He never even titled it. Still has the MSO and the bill of sale. He paid dealer cost. I took out one build sheet from Behind the glove box. Onewas behind the drivers seat but out of another car. a 318 car red. The back seat I have not looked yet. I am sure it is there. The last year he ran it was 1973. It has 149 miles on the odometer. The motor was freshened up before he parked it in case they decided to run again. David was getting tired after 14 yrs. Milburn was having a baby and decided to leave the dealer and open his own auto repair shop at his house. I had received a call from a great guy down there Heath Parker who seen on Facebook I was really into Mopars. He asked for my Phone number said a real nice guy passed away last fall October 2018. He was into racing and has 4 cars and two Hemi motors and the original 440 6 pack motor with carbs and intake. So I rushed down there to meet the wife and son. The son kept the 63 Max Wedge Plymouth. The other cars were a 1967 Hemi GTX Convertible one of 10 Automatics ever built. Turbine Bronze with Black top and interior. The 6 pack Cuda. A 1966 Hemi Belvedere II. After intense and hard negotiating and thanks to Heath Parker for his help. I ended up with the Cuda , The Hemi GTX Convertible and the extra motors. The Cuda after messing with it for a bit started right up. It is a bad ass running car. It is now all cleaned up and headed to Chryslers at Carlisle next week. This is truly a cool car. I have already have two great offers for it. Getting close to what I think it's worth. Cool history and why it was ordered. The 440 block ended up not the original but a real 70 440 HP. out of another car. Enjoy

Astock. An Automatic 6 pack or a Hemi car came with an 8 3/4. You could order a Dana 60 for extra cash. I have had a few Auto's that did. The original owner of my car already had a Dana so he ordered it with the cheapest rear end combo he could. All 4 speed 440 4 bl, 440 6 pack, and Hemi cars came standard with a Dana 60 with either 3:54 Gears and 4.10 gears depending on how you ordered them.

Finally making some progress... my two nephews got me out to the garage for a long overdue garage night. I don't get out to the shop very often lately, so bear with the slow progress. I couldn't ask for a better fit from these Cragars. The DOT date on the M/T tires only have three digits, so they are older vintage tires.

Graeme, yes that’s my nephew Justin’s project. It looked brown but it was Garnet Red paint (repainted once already) and faded and rubbed down to the primer. The car has come a long way. Factory Garnet Red with white vinyl top and white houndstooth... and a 307 PG. Eventually we may put a few more cubes under the hood, but for now we just want to get er on the road.
