I am restoring my 396/375 HP L78 SS/RS Camaro that I have owned since 1978 and I am looking for the following:

1969 Camaro 396/375 HP Block with a JH Suffix
4 bolt main 272 Casting

Block should be cast approximately within the first 2 weeks of April 69 and the deck should read

TO416 JH or TO417 JH ( I have a TO416 JH that is 2,000 prior to my vin and had a T0418 JH that was 2,000 past my vin)- I realize there was no exact science to when a block was pulled from the rack and stamped and the date could vary

Vin by oil filter should be in the vicinity of N635xxx

Short of finding my original block from PA/NJ that was removed around 1973- I'm looking for the next best thing

I have 10-12 other 396/375 HP blocks- so I do not want a decked or re-stamped block, Chevelle or Nova block

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thank you Steve for the ad!

Hi Fred I just sent Jim Brady the information above. Sometimes you never know...one may be sitting in a corner of a shop. Hopefully he gets back to you.

I had an 04C L78 Camaro with a T0416JH or T0417JH (can't remember) original block that was damaged and scrapped in the early 70's. The S/N was 19N634182. Do you happen to have the block?

Thank you for the reply
Paul, No I do not- wish I did though

If Norwood was producing the roughly 912 cars a day (2 shifts) in mid April 1969 your came down the line 1 day before mine, my car's final assembly date was April 28 1969

Coincidently, I do have another 04C L48 Pace Car that is 100 vin numbers off my L78 vin

I have what looks like vin 632213 on the block I have now.

The search continues.....
