Bob Lambeck...dealt with his shop years ago. "Interesting" guy to say the least.
Cool Hemi Dart with interesting race history:

I had him rebuild one of my race car engines that lasted about one lap around the track. Sent it back, got charged to fix it and it lasted maybe 2 laps next time at the track. Found another engine builder after that. Waste of about 20K.

Oh man. I never had any problems with the engine running well, but did find out later that the parts in the short block were kinda-sorta not the same as the ones I ordered. I wasn't super happy about that.

I used to race Super Stock SS/GT Division 7 with Bob and his sold Doug. Always had a good time with them. Also dynoed a few engines at his Northridge shop. He was always very good to me.

One of my friends owned and raced this car in the 80's. Should have spent the $8500 he wanted for it back then.
Original Lambeck paint and all!

My recollection of my engine rebuild was I had a few seasons on the engine and even though it was running fine it is always a good idea to freshen them up. Sent it to Bob, paid 15K for the freshen, didn't argue since I trusted him. I don't think it needed much. Smallblock Ford. Oil pump broke off on I think the first lap. A ford pump has a long cast piece and that is what broke. I asked Bob if he put a new oil pump in and he said "No, I was trying to save you money". WTF. 15K and you put the old oil pump in ? My guess is a lunkhead kid he had assembling engines for him dropped and cracked the casting, didn't notice and put it in anyway. Then I got charged again for rebuilding it again but this time he just put bearings and a pump for 5K.
