Not everyone's cup of tea when it comes to color combo, but a 35,000-mile original paint L78 with docs sounds pretty good to me.

I seem to recall this car listed some time ago... love the car. Original factory vinyl top too!

Mentions the trans and rear are original but says nothing of the motor matching. Decent car IMO

"This Chevelle has the matching number engine with 35,500 original miles many inspection copies Showing very few miles each year." First sentence in the description.

It was 4:45 AM when I got up so I guess I missed that all important line before commenting. Thanks for the correction. :scholar:

I like the gold with the saddle colored interior myself. Car has a lot going for it.

But it wouldn't be correct as delivered.
Came with a Gold top as is shown.

I would still go with the black top. It will better match with the stripes.

I'd paint it red with black stripes and a black top and put black interior in it. Just joking. I could live with it like it is, except that copper fuel line would have to go.

But there's sooooo many blk V/tops out there already.I like the contrast as well as the originality of what it came with.
I could count on my hands the number of Gold V/tops I've seen on a '70 SS.

I know it is different. It would have to grow on me.

Thanks for setting me straight. I saw that the seams in the vinyl top were in the correct location... must have been replaced early on? I like the colors.

IMO, it would be better looking if the vinyl top was gone and the roof was painted body color. I'm not a big fan of vinyl tops.

Did it have a price in the Craigslist ad?

Is the correct pattern Gold vinyl roof available? What's on there now no where near correct.

I was looking at the two seams correctly located at the joint between the trunk filler panel and the quarters. Now that I’ve looked at it more closely, I see it only has one seam in the vinyl top along the ridge of the roof... never noticed that before.

It does not look correct to me. I have seen a few cars with that color in person looks nice. Rather see it as a hardtop but that is the way it came. You just don't see to many l78's. Now if that l78 was fathom green I would buy it in a heart beat lol. (my favorite color)

And copper fuel line??????!!!!!!!!!!

We owned an Autumn Gold L78 Nova...solid color/no top. It was a real plain jane car...perfect granny look. But, when you pushed the right pedal, oh baby :burnout:
