The link I tried to post is a thread covering your question. It would be nice if someone would offer the battery case and let people use a smaller battery inside it.

Tom, I just purchased an R59 for my 69 Chevelle this past November from Antique Auto Battery in Youngstown, Ohio. I called, ordered it and went there to pick it up. They even stamped the date codes on the top of the battery for me.

I believe they are still in business. I can tell you that when I was there I only saw 2 employees. There was a woman who waited on me in the office area that was very knowledgeable and a guy in the shop that actually made the battery for me. So maybe they are just cutting back on staff. They never mentioned anything at that time about going out of business. The woman employee told me that the elderly man that owned the company passed away and I believe his daughter took it over and moved the business back to downtown Youngstown at it's current location.

I would keep trying to call there..

I tried numerous times phoning them to order a battery for my 70 Road Runner 440+6.No one answered .Left them a voice message on their telephone system and no one called back.
I even filed out a quote request on their system and never got a reply.Bob

You can "restore / repair the battery" yourself.

Due to safety reasons, I'm not going to explain how to do it.

If you're resourceful enough and you can logically look at what you have to work with, you can do it.

I've done it plenty of times.

They've been unresponsive for months now. Not sure if they are out of business or what but I would assume so.

A friend of mine just ordered a battery from a company out of the Carolina's that seems to be making them now. I'll try to find out what company it is.

Best,
Dave
