Anyone watching this? I missed this past Wed's show as I have family in town, but I think I like it better than the regular S/O (too much of the same cars racing over and over again). That Megalodon Camaro is amazingly fast, and prob my favorite car of the usual suspects.

I'm watching it and enjoy it better than regular show. Are they racing 1/8 mile?

I think they all are, even the regular SO. Could be wrong about the No Prep, but I think. Not sure how I feel about that part, lol.

They were in Orangeburg SC last weekend filming for the show. There was a car show at this one so I drove my Beaumont 120 miles to be there. The spectator turn out was way more than they expected. It was so bad that the local police and fire department blocked the street leading to the track and turned people away that were trying to get in. There were a lot of people that had bought tickets online weeks or months before the event but were turned away by the police. The fire department said the track had exceeded their capacity limit. AZN went through the car show and picked his three favorite cars. One stipulation was that they had to race him during the event. He asked me if I would race but I told him no.

The red Camaro was built by a good friend of mine a few years back and raced in radial 1/8 mile for two years and sold to the guy in the show. It used to be a gold color. Here it is when Joe was racing it. It ran good back when he had it..

That's the Fireball Camaro owned by Ryan Martin?

Wow, that's impressive. That's absolutely one of the fastest cars on either show.

The episode I saw the Megalodon Camaro beat Chief.

On the No Prep episode a Ford beat that Camaro in the semis and Chief beat the Ford in the finals to win $60K!

I'm pretty sure that Ford is Chevy powered.

Last night's episode wasn't bad. It's unbelievable what Chuck has done to his Mustang, Death Trap. That thing is wicked fast compared to before, and even beat Ryan Martin's Fireball Camaro.

Seems like they're runnng in some pretty cool weather. A couple of them mentioned missing hunting season, so you wonder if they're filming in November and December.

Must be Discovery pushing them to get episodes filmed so they can catch the current craze while it's hot.

Just hope they don't hurt someone running cold tires on cold tracks.

Anyone see last night's season finale? Birdman killed them all once again, although that race with Ryan Martin was pretty close and then Birdman beating Larson to get the extra $40K was pretty amazing. A $90K payday ain't bad.

Anyone know why none of the 405 guys except Chuck and Doc do the No Prep stuff? It's weird, I thought I saw Dave's Nova in the background last night, so maybe they just do the Grudge Races for cash?

I wonder if they're going back to the original format and cast, or is no prep what we'll see on future shows?

From what I've seen, I think it's going to be it's own series just a spinoff of the old show, but not 100% sure.

Dave did a video talking about the no prep thing. One thing he mentioned it that per the no prep rules the cars must have metal roofs and quarters as well as a VIN. He said that Birdman and a couple others had fiberglass cars with metal panels attached to the roof and quarters and a junk yard VIN tag. That was part of the reason he didn't race in the series.

Really, I do agree with that. Maybe there should be two classes for this: one with pro-mod types like Birdman and one for true street cars for ones like Dave and most of the other SO cars? It does seem unfair for the ones whose cars are definitely more street-worthy than Birdman's and Larry Larson's.
