Not sure if this has been posted before but I definitely like it. Great description with a lot of provenance.

Underside is pristine. I better buy this as the car has my name emblazoned across its sides!!! Cool car - terrific provenance.!!!!

Look at the original paint and that trunk! That’s a 60,000 car

Wow, great car. The tire and wheels stored all of these years is amazing. He may have made a mistake on the axle code since its dated May in the description and I believe this is a January build. I have a question on the trim tag for the build date as it looks like 1SD. Has anyone seen this before?

One of the better Camaros I've seen for sale for some time, I would love to have it!

Current owner is expecting some pretty serious dough for it. I've spent a couple hours back and forth with him now and I'm waiting for some more pics this afternoon before committing to flying up from Alberta.
Pretty cool car but the entire drive line was lost in action and the positives such as paint & docs don't quite add up for the fact that all the original numbers are long gone. Diff is not the original and that L89 motor in it now has been in there since the mid 70's. No doubt it should also be gone through after 40+ years. :hmmm:

Seller sent me all of the documents last night and is sending floor and suspension pics to me today. Might still be a possibility to get a deal done on this yet
Still to large, history is so so, not a significant race car imho, but that is just from owing several of them. 30-35k car the way it sits.

My friend Mike said exactly the same thing as you. Only good thing is the condition of the body and sheet metal never having been cut.

I agree original paint, interior and trunk spatter with ultra low miles, it doesn't get any better. The tinted glass looks killer with the Grotto Blue. Nice car. I would love to own it.

I think it would be well bought at $35k.

Teal Blue and yes it can be better, if it had a matching block, trans and diff (but it doesn't) :(
I told him the other day that at best it's maybe a 50K car with the extra motor and original wheels/tires, but that it's far from being a 60K car with all the numbers MIA.
This morning I emailed him to say I was going to pass and waive any interest...unless the price comes down by 10K or more. If so, he has my number.

Sorry ,Grotto Blue is code D . When I referred to it doesn’t get any better, I was referring to the originality of the body . I realize it’s better with original drivetrain.

No worries here at all and was only saying...;)
I have a Grotto Blue 68 myself and simply love that color. I'm also liking the Teal Blue, Tripoli Turquoise and the list goes on. Did I mention I like Daytona Yellow too? :naughty:

Chuck Sharin messaged me with some details of the family hoping to buy the car back, so I emailed the current owner back this morning with this message;
Bill,
Has Scott Griffith (Ray's son) been in touch with you? I hear that he and Roland's daughter Lindsey want to buy the car back. I'm only messaging you on this because you said you wanted it to stay in the PNW and what better way to keep the cars Legacy intact than by selling it back to the Griffith's after buying it from Barry.
As long as you guys can find a price that's right...it would be the cool thing to do.
Good luck...G
Hopefully they can work something out and hammer a deal to get it back to the family and the kid's of the original owners. That's where it belongs IMO

I guess Chuck messaging me and my sending an email to the seller kinda helped the cause as Bill emailed today saying that it's going home to Seattle. :)
Hi Graeme,
The car is going back home. I still have my dad's '68 he bought new here in Fairbanks and know exactly how they feel.
I had know idea they where interested in the car or I would of never listed it, but it all worked out well. Thanks again for all
info, as it's good just to bs with people with the same interest. Regards, Bill

Would be a cool story for members rides here. Someone should contact the new owners and invite them to the site,

2 questions here about the cowl tag. Someone brought it up but is wasn't addressed: 1) what's up with the 1SD build date? (12d makes sense, it fits the VIN, typo?) 2) Why no scheduling code? I'm sure there are logical explanations, just wanted to know. Thanks.

Suspected newbie at the Addressograph when they punched out the trim tag. It was built over Christmas and likely while many were away or so it is thought. Simple mistake on the font selection of 12D and likely that the same person forgot to set the scheduling code for the LA plant.
No question on it being the original tag in any case, and not the first with an error in the fonts.
