Nor'easter closes schools, delays flights as record spring snow likely
The fourth nor'easter in three weeks has closed schools and canceled thousands of flights Wednesday as it's expected to dump record springtime snow in the Northeast.
A day after the official beginning of spring, the storm is bringing heavy snow, strong winds and possible coastal flooding to some areas. It has the potential to be one of the most significant and disruptive snowstorms for so late in the season, CNN meteorologists said.
"If the current forecast pans out, this nor'easter will dump more snow on Washington, Philadelphia and New York than the three earlier storms combined," CNN meteorologist Brandon Miller said.
More than 70 million people are under a winter storm watch, warning or advisory from the southern Appalachians to Boston.
Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf told reporters Wednesday that it's "a huge snowstorm that's only going to get worse."
The storm will move away from the region by Thursday but not without first hitting coastal New England and Maine.

We got around 11" on the back deck yesterday...dang plows hit us three times and buried the walkways and the driveway entrances two out of three. I stood right at the entrance and they still did it!!
Love snow!

No place to put the snow, but walkways and bottom of drives. Have to clear the streets and get the snow to the curb. The plow guy could have turned the plow a little and not push as much snow at the bottom of your drive while you stood there, that's what I do. Have people stand in front of the truck at times and won't move or throw there shovels in front. I have seen it all over the years...

OR...they can slow down a tad and not sling it as far! I have done all of that..shovels,snow balls and stood in the street. I get it that they have a job to do but after shoveling for a few hours and your tired and just want to go in and sit down, eat dinner and THEN it happens! Your hear the snow plow on the next street over and you get to the front of your house and there they go...45-50 MPH up and down the street... three at a time, one right behind the other. I see these guys during the summer cutting the grass at the end of the street in the park and seem humble but put them behind a plow truck and they turn into Gru from the minions with both hands on the wheel..grinning while they zip by!
Not fair I tell ya!!! LOL

Are they knocking over your mailbox? That's what they used to do when I lived out there.
Never failed, nearly every year we would have at least one snow event where they would bust the mailbox post clean off level with the ground. After the 3rd one I just said forget it and got a PO box.
I don't miss that stuff the least bit, lol.

Living in Northern Michigan on the edge of Lake Michigan where we got 266" of snow a couple of winters ago, it's hard to feel much sympathy. lol
Maybe this will make you smile a little and put things in perspective, it could be worse!!
